  • Also check the Category New Features

How to start playing

In order to start playing click on this link, and follow instructions given there. First, you need to download the "create Homebase kml file" and open it in Google Earth. The Homebase is where you create your armies and can send them to when you don't need them. You find detailed info about where to set our base on the gewar page.

Rules

This game has some rules such as you are only allowed to have one account. Read and understand the Main Article: Rules

KMZ Files

Main Article: KMZ files

After setting your base you need to download one KMZ file which displays armies, cities and homebases and allows you to collect jewels, Oil Mining, Fishing and Cotton Picking. You can find it on the Your Account page.

Training Camp

When you first set your base you will automatically added to a Training Camp. This is a special alliance that helps you find your way through the first steps of the game. The leaders of the training alliance are experienced players or members of Staff who try their best to answer any questions you might have. Don't be shy and post on the alliance wall. Eventually you will feel that you learnt the basic principles of the game ans wish to start the real playing. For that you can leave the Training Camp at any time to join real alliances.

Taking A City

If you're early enough to have a choice of empty cities, then create an army and send it to a city to occupy it. You must first attack it to destroy its Militia.

To create an army you need to click on the Homebase link. Here you can recruit either one army or 5 of them. We just want one for now.

Click on the army you just created, troop up or add experience (the "militia" will beat a 100 troop army 99% of the time) and send it to it's destination.

The standard army name will be your user name plus a number, you can rename it something witty or in a manner as to keep your army page neat and orderly if you want. (Be aware though that armies with inappropriate names may be deleted by the administrative staff)

You will notice that when you submitted the journey it told you how many barrels of Oil you needed. If you don't have enough oil to complete the trip, it will start to take your Geos away from you. If you go into negative Geos, then your troops will start to die.

Not to worry though. You can buy more Oil from 'The Market' which is located on the Left Control Panel, just in the Financial Section. Here you will find Barrels for sale at different prices. Buy some more if you have the Geos.

You can read more about army moving and oil on the Army Movement page.

Attacks on you

While attacking cities you should always watch other player's movements against you as well. If you already have cities the most simply thing is to take a look on the table of cities you own, this can be found on the lower right side of every GEWar page.

Also check the Index Page to check attacks on you which already happened.

As well you should pay attention to the traveling armies you see on Google Earth, some could be moving against you, if you check the owners of the armies you may get an idea.

Alliances

Main Article: Alliances

Most players in GEWar are organized in alliances for better defense and coordinated attacking. Your alliance members will support you in attacks, by soldiers or by diplomatic contacts. That's why it's recommended to make contact with other players (for example by Private Messages) and eventually join their alliance. Take a look at the GEWar Forum, some alliances post when they recruit players and you can post there as well if you are searching for an alliance. It's a good idea to join an alliance that has cities near your homebase so that they can help you out faster, so don't hesitate to contact other players.

Getting More Money

Main Article: Finances

If you need Geos to buy oil, there is a quick and easy way to get some. In case you haven't guessed... it is Jewelling. The Devil's Work is back for you. And it doesn't get any more fruitful. One Jewel will bring you 1.21 Geos just like before, and you can hold onto 50 before you need to convert them. First thing you should do now is go Jewel and get 50 Jewels!

Of course once you have some money you will start earning interest on the geos in the bank. You can not earn interest on geos that are not in the bank!

Progressing from your first Jewelling Session

It isn't the intention of this FAQ to give you a Step-By-Step Guide on how to succeed. It is a basis for you to do your own thing. So rather than point you in the direction of what the personal opinion of each author is, we will tell you what you CAN do with your new found riches, rather than what you SHOULD do with them.

Bank

Main Article: Finances

You could quite easily bank the Money that you have. To do so, just click on the Geos In Hand and it will take you to the Bank Page for you to Deposit. If you click on the World Bank link to the left, you are given many more options though. These include:

  • Deposit into your account: Transfer your available geos into you bank account.
  • Transfer to another player: Transfer geos from your bank account to another player's bank account.
  • Withdraw: Transfer your banked geos to your available funds.
  • View bank history: View ALL your transactions or a chosen few.

You need a minimum Player Value to use the bank services.

Resources

Main Article: Jewels and Resources

You obviously need some resources. Oil to keep your troops moving, Fish to upgrade to the next level (Possibly implemented as needed to sustain troops), Cotton for Geos. Get planting your resources, and you can plant again in 24 Hours. This should make the back-bone of your income.

Train/Troop Up an Army

Main Article: Army Details

If you click on the number of armies you have, displayed at the side of Total Armies, you can select an army to modify. From here you can add troops, rename, send to a city/homebase, send to one of YOUR cities, buy Equipment or Train. Buying Equipment or Training your troops will make them stronger, but it costs Geos to do this. You can Train your troops up to an Experience Factor of 2, or buy Equipment up to a factor of 1.5. You can also add troops to the army. You just type in the amount that you want and slick buy. If you don't have enough Geos, it will tell you. You can now add any number of troops to the army that you wish.

A larger Army will cost more Oil to move. So you need to bear this is mind when trekking around the globe!

Market

Main Article: Market

The market is the place where you can buy oil, uranium or oil if you need some. The market can be found under Finances in the top menu in the game.
