Overview

Most players in this game play in alliances to be stronger and more successful. Several alliances have a long history and persisted over several versions of the game.

Alliances help each other out in defending and attacking so for beginners it's recommended to join an alliance as well. As an independent player you are possibly targeted quite fast. To join an alliance the best is to take a look at the GEWar Forum and make contact with other players in game. For first contact you can send a private message to the player, for example. Check if alliances search for members or post there himself to find an alliance to join. It's also a good idea to check the players with cities around your base or your city (cities), most alliances like to recruit players in their vicinity.

If you want you can as well create your own alliance and find other players who want to join you. But that's with no doubt not the easiest way.

Creating and joining an alliance

Your Alliance page can be found on the "Home" dropdown menu on top of the gewar pages.

If you are not member of an alliance yet you can go there and create an alliance. You are the leader of the alliance then and name it however you want but there are some rules:

  • Names must not be offending or inappropriate otherwise the alliance will be deleted.
  • The name of the Alliance should only contain letters and numbers and spaces, no symbols or interpunctations
  • the maximum number of characters in the alliance name is 20

The alliance leader can also enter a description of his alliance to inform the players about intentions, playing style etc of the alliance. Of course offending or inappropriate content is abolished here as well. The maximum length of the description is 200 characters.

You as alliance leader are the only one with the power to invite other players to your alliance, other members you invited can't invite others. When you invite people you need to send them a personal message about the invite, they don't receive an automatic message about the invite.

You can only invite players not being in an alliance already, if you want to invite someone else you must ask him to leave his actual alliance.

Invited players can accept or decline the invite on the alliance page.

Removing players from alliance and disbanding alliance

You can also "uninvite" a person if you invited her/him accidently or changed your mind, before they accept the invite. You also have the power to remove players from your alliance if you don't want them any more but in this case it may be also smart to inform the player. ;)

If you as alliance leader disband the alliance which means all members will be removed. There is no way to restore an alliance, you have to invite them all again. But there will be pop up a confirmation message when asking if you really want to disband the alliance.

If you are member of the alliance you can of course leave anytime you want, there will be a confirmation message as well.

Features of the alliance page

As member or leader of an alliance the alliance page shows a table of the members with their number and total troop size of armies, number of geos and banked geos and number of cities, total city value.

Below the table of members there is a link "View alliance cities" where you can check if there are other armies outside or traveling to your alliance's cities.

Below there is a box where you can leave messages ("Allied Notes") to be read for all members, they appear in chronological order, most recent one on top of the page. The alliance leader can write sticky messages, meaning that it will always stay on top. The alliance leader also can remove any posts written.

Because of the info shown on the alliance page you as alliance leader may decide carefully about who to invite. There will be always spies who try to gather information about opponent alliances.

Alliance ranking

You can take a look at the "Honors" dropdown menu and choose "Top Alliances" to view a table of the alliances in game, by default it's sorted by total value but you can also sort by average value per player, number of armies, cities, members or alliance name by clicking on the column you want.
