I took xjac's idea and put it in gewar itself. Doesn't look great yet(not as fun as on xjac's page) but should work for most.

I just find a way. Download antroid version of Google Earth and download the gewar.kmz. Extract it in the google earth and view it in KMLZ to Earth Explorer

I downloaded the antroid google earth, even I used the gewar kmz, I can only the cities, can't see the armies and plants resource.
