I picked facebook but I also love twitter and YouTube, only recently started using google+ but almost never on there.

3 videos uploaded that were not mine....was happy to delete them but no had to be banned....

I mostly use facebook because everyone I know is on it, professionally I have a linkedin, and I've done a little bit with google+ but it seems to be a pretty delayed takeoff, I can't believe how many of my friends use e-mails other then gmail... still amazes me

I use Facebook a little. Mostly to stay in touch with family out of the area and old friends. I've hooked in with friends and exgirlfriends from 25 years ago.

I think social networks are very usefull. Not only is it part of our future, but it has a lot of positive points for it as well.
Like staying in touch with friends you hardly see. Ofcourse you can exchange phonenumbers and email addresses, but you know there is a big chance you will forget about them and they about you. With social networks, people get much closer. People all around the world. Every day you are updated about what they did and how they are doing. You are reminded of them on a daily basis. In my case friendships stayed that would otherwise have been gone, and with others I've become better friends(in real life thanks to facebook).
I'm not using it as a place to meet new people.
Another good thing is sharing photos like from vacation instantly with whole groups. Before social networks, I was sending photos to people individually. Was a pain.
And ofcourse it's good for business also. Lot of companies on it. And in my case also easy to promote www.gewar.net and www.chaniaweb.com a bit.
LinkedIn is something I do use, but for a whole other purpose. I see it as the social network for professionals. Looking for better jobs, or finding the job they were always looking for or never even knew it was what they were looking for. To expand your professional network.
Now in Holland a new law has passed which states that people over 40 years old that get unemployed are forced to create a profile on social networks. Because a lot of people find their job at linkedin here in Holland.
