Sad but not really a surprise about Amy Winehouse, with the lifestyle she led, you knew it was going to happen sooner or later, I feel for her family, as I am sure they have felt on many occasions its like watching a dead woman walking, it was just a matter of time before her life expired.
However more shocking is what happened in Oslo yesterday, imagine sending your child to summer camp and some maniac gunman posing as a Policeman opening fire on them all. Absolutely incredible and heartbreaking.

Police arrested a man who seems to be responsible for both the bomb and the shooting. It's so incredibly pointless.
I didn't split this topic because it was slightly offtopic. I split it because a huge terrible topic like this should have it's own thread so anyone can comment on it without the fear of being offtopic.
It is terrible yes. And happing more often lately.
Like some time ago in Germany. A few months ago in Holland, and a few times before in America. The only exception that this one is huge. 84 young people shot. Unimaginable.
Absolutely imaginable. The youth camp belongs to the Norwegian labour party and is situated on a tiny island of 500x300 meters. About 500 teenagers were there when the gunman appeared disguised as cop and started the bizarre 'hunt' across the island. The only escape from the island was swimming a few 100 meters to the mainland.
Everything looks like as the terrorist had extreme right-wing political views.
This so reminded me of Dunblane, purely because it involved youngsters. People in Oslo were actually pretending to be dead so that they were not shot at. Awful, and I imagine these poor individuals who bore witness to this will be in therapy for years to come.
I do not mean to belittle Amy Winehouses death in any manner, as it is also a tragedy, specifically for those who loved her , however the girl really was willingly killing herself, somehow I cannot feel sympathy for that, perhaps that makes me hard. But when I compare it to the tragedy in Oslo, I just hope her death does not overshadow the deaths of all those lost to a senseless maniac.
No as for Amy it's just a pity of a young girl that went that way herself.
I named her in the thread title as it might be confusing because the first post starts with it(as it was split from another thread).
It's not her death that overshadows the tragedy, but the tragedy of Norway is really overshadowing her demise. Normally the news would be full of a celebrity death, but now it was just mentioned in between 2 articles here. The big one being Oslo. It was ironic(if I can say so) that Tony predicted 3 celebrity deaths though and this is the second.
This might sound nasty but who cares about Amy's death... It's a celeb that died and life will go on. I was at a party and this huge Amy fan came up to us and said 'she's dead'. We were all like erm who cares (not in a nasty way) but like 'she's been dead to me long before today'.
I'll go out 4x4'ing tomorrow and the last thing on my brain will be the death of AW!

Regardless if you cared for her music or not, her death is a loss for the music industry not unlike Janis Joplin or Jimmy Hendrix or Kurt Cobain. It's always a shame when one so young and talented loses the battle to addiction.
As for the tragedy in Norway, what more can be said except shame on the media. Melek will (should) be all over this one. The NYT all but blamed Muslims from the beginning (actually they did blame Muslims in the beginning). But then when the nationality/political/religious views of the perpetrator were revealed, it went from terrorism to extremist violence, like if it's not done by a Muslim it can't be terrorism. That kind of pigeon holing is nearly as heinous and damaging as the loss of all of those defenseless victims.
