It's been two years this month that I've been playing gewar, and I've enjoyed every minute of it. 24 months...I only wish I knew how many hours I've been logged on during that time. The longest break I've taken was my recent 9 day trip to Germany, and I still found a way to log in almost every day. In retrospect, every minute has been worth it. It's unfortunate that all of my original mentors and friends are gone: Robertoplanet, testos, phlox, protektor, GBA, but others have stepped up and taken their place along side your favorite Hollow. I've made some really good friends along the way, and I've enjoyed so many discussions with a lot of you. Good or bad conversations, I still enjoyed them. Can't thank you guys enough. I can clearly remember when Roberto gave me my first invite into Vultures. I was a noob with about 4k in the bank (and I thought that was a lot until I joined an alliance and saw their banks). Roberto sent me 15k to build my bank, and I spent it all in one day on WTO. Of course I got a talkin to the next time my Brazilian friend logged on and saw what I did, but hey, I didn't know any better at the time.
I've been a member of Vultures Infantry, Vultures, 3rd Infantry, Alien Nemesis, PTB, and Alien Invasion.
I've fought WTO, DOOM, Wolf of Totem, TLI, 3rd, Natives, NAOW, AO, NAOAW, Misfits, and countless other small alliances and solo players.
I've had some incredible battles with tony7611, taoqi, wildcat, luckyluciano, outofnowhere, risus, jokosr, to name a few. I give a lot of credit to tony7611 as he was the first contact I've ever had via pm with someone I was going head to head with. He's a good dude, and has my respect.
I've enjoyed conversations and I've made friends with people across the States, and around the world, and I still think that's one of my favorite parts of this game. Canada, Germany, UK, Ireland, South Africa, China, Italy, Brazil, Indonesia, etc...
I'm a donator. Not because of any special attribute that it might bring me, but because I believe it's right to give back to something if you enjoy it that much. It was cool when intercept was available, but I was a donator way before that. I spend a lot of time on this site, so it's only fair for me to contribute to the guy that keeps it going.
My final thanks goes to the crew for all of the hard work and effort they've put in to making my online livelihood enjoyable. At times I'm floored by the criticism you all take...that never made any sense to me, and I consider it a real shame. At any rate, thanks for the time you've taken out of your lives to make this game possible. I appreciate that.
It's been a great two years, and I'm looking forward to the future with you all, either friend or foe.
Finally, what would a Hollow passage be with out a little mood music?
Hollow, by Pantera:
Incredible battles with Outofnowhere?! I didn't realise 500 troops counted as "incredible" but I'll take your word for it haha.
You're one of the good guys in the game hollow, it's a pleasure to have served with you in AI, you're a scholar and a gent! You also provide a vital function in the game by being noob fodder - no matter who the noob is, where they are from, they all come for a piece of Hollow's cities! haha
If you go to the home dropdown menu.. and then to account. Under your stats you can see your online time. An interesting way to judge how much time you spend on here.. I know mine is way way to high...
Grats HC. Nice to have you here. Funny - I en dup feeling that way about almost everyone who stays - even enemies. Not too many people in this community that I end up feeling any dislike for, and most I learn to like even when we're on opposite sides of issues, battles etc.
Looking forward to the future as well. Great post.
Where I turn, the fire burns...
Where I sleep, the widows weep...
And when I point a finger, the assassin creeps
And triggers pandemonium!
