can you try deleting your temp files of GE? Also try redownloading your gewar kml file.

GEWar KML Crashes

I've been playing GEWar with my KML file without a problem for the last month or so, and its been working fine, but today i started it up, and it didn't work. it tried to load the cities after asking for the password and the main screen froze. then the cities loaded for a fraction of a second and disappeared and then reloaded and disappeared again over and over again. then eventually it froze completely and i had to close it, i tried again with the same result.

i then tried re-downloading the KML file and that was worse. it just froze and didn't come back. i had to close it again.

has anyone else experienced this problem before? did something change between today and yesterday in the KML file?

--EDIT--
Sorry, i should not have started this thread, i see there is one almost exactly the same created bit earlier

yes, this problem occurs with GE 5.1 and so far it's not understood why the kml can work for several days or weeks even and suddenly crashing only. That's why: Everyone who has this problem, please report details: When did this problem occur first time? When did you install google Earth 5.1? What's the exact version number of Google Earth? What Operating System are you using? Did you upgrade your OS recently? Does anything change if you delete the cache of GE?

Went to pull up this morning. The kml file blinks then HB pin and logo load but no cities come up and it freezes. Tried to reload kml file. When I did cities came up for a second then disapered and google earth froze again. I have GE 5.1 with Windows XP Pro. I have not updated anything except kml file. Please hurry I have to plant cotton. lol

hmmm... if you go to Tools --> Preferences --> Cache you can delete the hdd and RAM cache of GE. Did you try that? Otherwise, the use of GE 5.0 is recommended till this problem is fixed. Check first post of this thread for more info.
