Not if there is a living bird in it . Unfertilized eggs however have nothing in it with that can think, feel fair and pain etc.
But I don't see the problem with killing a lobster before throwing it in the boiling water. It's quick and almost painless if you do it right. And I don't taste the difference. Better than having it endure so much pain.
I understand all the concerns about boiling something live...but when you have 1000's of crawfish in a sack. People are not going to take the time and do that to each one.

About small fish and sorts like that. In Holland they put them in a quickfreezer first. It almost instantly kills them. Otherwise, like everywhere in Holland, they have Animal Rights watchers demonstrating outside their doors.
Its hard to come up with animals other than shellfish that are cooked alive... I guess its par4tly because as soon as shellfish die their meat decayes fast. Is there a way to boil a duck alive...you would have to pluck it first.. so it won't fly out of the pot.
