Math problem

My nephew face a problem in math, who can help him to solve part2: 6 and 7? At the meantime, I feel curious to know what is the formula from other country like Germany and USA, how they do solve it? Thank you very much.

(1) Set the pond volume to be x
(2) Flow rates of A, B, and C are given (x/12, x/15, and -x/10)
(3) Writing the equation.

(FlowRateA + FlowRateB)*(3min) + (FRA + FRB + FRC)*(Time) = x

Plug in the flowrates and solve for Time.

Ans is 11 min.
