I swear to allah, buddha and jesus: I've NEVER been able to get lucky attacking or defending. Seems like I'm always the one losing more troops. Today I just spend 2x the troops as someone getting a city, and then he spent 1/2 my defending troops getting it back. I'm cursed I tell you! Cursed!
