I have been wondering why so many are not donors still in the game?? The benefits of being a donor can really help your game play....
The benefits that come with being a donator include:
- Access to Donators forum
- Access to test server (seperate game server for testing new features)
- Custom Usertitle
- You can store 2000 PMs instead of 1000
- - A circle around your resources indicates where you can and cannot place resources. Great way taking full advantage of the empty areas. -
- Custom Icons in GEWar (instead of tents, luke is still doing this)
- You can jewelhunt no matter how much you own.
- No 2500 Geo limit if you dont own a city
- You dont need a city to transfer money
- Better game statistics(example: when you click on a user, you will see his personal events, including homebase attacks and when an army of him got attacked outside a city. Makes for great strategic attacks.)
Cost
1 Month = $6.00 or 4 euro
3 Months = $12.00 or 8 Euro
6 Months = $17.50 or 12 Euro
1 Year = $29.00 or 22 Euro
So what is the reason your not a donor ????

If everyone became a Liftime donor..Luke would not have enough money coming in too pay the bills each month after a years time..Thats why had too get rid of it..Or he would have too charge so much nobody would do it...

im not a donator because i dnt believe i should be paying money for web browser games when theres hundreds of them out there that require no payment whatsoever.

cause some people cant afford money for a GAME which has the option of being played for free at a slightly lesser standard.
some people dont have cards able to pay online with.numerous endless reasons
im personally purchasing one today(throught the medium of geos for donor) but its quite ignorant to think that all people are privilged as others to do this

No one is 'ignorant' as you so eloquently put it, we as staff are trying to determine the reasons why people don't donate and maybe come up with creative ways to get more people to help support monthly server costs.

I am just going to put this out there, that even if you don't have a credit card or pay pal, you can still donate. I know I don't have either one, so when I use to pay for my donatorship, I asked Luke for his address, and sent my money to him. I think Luke will be able to help you out, if you would like to donate, but just don't have a credit card. There is always snail mail.

eve uses a in game money system to let players pay for memberships.
although it may be close to "Selling geos", people could offer a set amount of geos for a donatorship. then, people who want geos, could go look at the offers that stand and do a trade.
so... it's like an ebay where people advertise geos for donatorships. not quite breaking the rules.....

I think that what a few people here have said would be the reason for so many non-donors and, as Starbuck mentioned, the Rand/$ rate is very bad - for us - at +-R10/$.
1 Month = $6.00 or R60.00
3 Months = $12.00 or R120.00
6 Months = $17.50 or R175.50
1 Year = $29.00 or R290.00
And with the cost of living here, its just not feasable.
My Donorship was a gift, for which I am extremely grateful, as I could never afford that.
Maybe I can get hold of a Z$500M for next year :D

Ive bought donorships, thanks Jokosr and Bisbicos, and Ive been given a donorship, thanks Jokosr, but right now I wont buy a donorship, because I believe that this game needs improvements first

Yeah I know of a bunch of people who sell donations for in game geos, maybe there needs to be a seperate forum for these people to advertise their Wares to make it easier for non-donators to find them?
yup im looking for someone right now that sells some... I made a thread but got no reply

Im one of those unfortunate mense.
And another problem here in SA is that there isn't paypal.
If it isn't Eskom its Telkom.
If it isn't Telkom it's the banks.
If it isn't the banks its the governments new cars and pay rises.:blackeye
After christmas ill look for a donatorship. Right now its holidays.

yeah, i'm gonna get some help along the way to stay a donator. it's a bit tought when i'm in college and a broke butt student cuz they only hire kids with low SES for workstudy and the horrible managers believe that there's a LOT of business that occurs when students leave during breaks.
Which brings up a question. If I'm able to get a 1 year donation right now, and I'm able to afford ANOTHER year's donation, is it possible to have a 2 FULL years worth of donation ?
Or you could go the lifetime donatorship :D Then never have to pay again :D
