I've taken Heraklion and there's only 1 way of defeating me and receiving the crown. Remember that you get to keep this crown after a reset even. It's the trophy of true strategy and hard play.

There are 10 cities scattered around the globe that need to be held in order for you to be able to take over Heraklion.

The one that actually takes over Heraklion is the mightiest of Gewar.

The ones holding the key city will notice a message in the top of that city page.

You could ofcourse tell others or write it in the forums, but you would know for sure that you will lose the city and the minigame. So try to keep it a secret. Also watch out for spies when you write it in the alliance shoutbox.

Now it's not easy to find them I know.

I can only say that it might not be that every continent has one. Some may be close to eachother. I had to do this because I did not want any alliance starting with more than 1 'special' city. This wouldn't make the game honest. But that meant that some special cities might be close to eachother. Doesn't really matter as this game is hard enough already.

In time I'll give out some hints(1 for each special city to keep it honest), and if this turns out to be too hard we'll lower the amount of cities necessary to hold.
Another hint: don't take special city too literally. It could very well be towns.

Because it seems there are lots of people who never visit the forum, never look at the minigames and have no clue on whats going on, I've placed a red 'READ ME!' in the top right of the game. Hopefully that makes it clear for everyone that in the very beginning of September there will also be a reset.

And after that the fight to hold them all together at the same time when attacking Heraklion(there's only 1 troop in Heraklion btw. Rabban himself).

I thought this would be an original way of concluding the longest round in gewar history. Instead of the last 2 weeks just having senseless fun with millions, you actually get something to work for seriously and something you can keep.

I'll also offer some other trophies at the end for alliances and players.

was a clever idea making Riyadh one of them, think this has been the most fought over city in the game.

Starting Tuesday I'll do some anonymous polls to see how many special cities are known to you guys. If people answer them honestly, you can get an idea of how this is spreading. The names of the people participating in the poll will be withheld for their sake in this game.

So is this individual achievement or alliance?

Individual, but I already knew an alliance would pick 1 guy or girl to do the job and take the price in all their names.

It could be funny if 1 guy from an alliance wants the price so much, he doesn't want the rest of the alliance to have it. Would start some competition within alliances. But holding 10 cities like that would probably be impossible for 1 guy as soon as some people know what cities are the key cities.

Luke, I personally think this would be a great way to start any new reset and finish it, no clues, just let it play out from the begining. Make it an alliance accomplishment. Awesome idea imo, makes the game alot more interesting and a way to acually win the game

I think it could be fun to do missions more often. Or all the time. Not just before a reset.
So people can choose either to play the game they want to play, or to play out a mission. And in missions you reward with trophies(stars next to your name or alliance).

Something you get to keep after a reset.

I programmed this one in about 15 minutes. The only thing is I didn't dare to open it up yet before I had the time to test it. Didn't find an error so went ahead with it.
And with these missions we can learn. Learn what is too difficult for instance. I really think this one is possible though. It might cost the big alliances a LOT of geos, but what are those geos worth anyway after a reset. It's a good chance to now spill what you have worked for. And nobody, not even other crewmembers, know what the 10 cities are. Not even the gewar police. And ofcourse I fully trust all of them. I just didn't tell anyone so nobody, not even inside the crew itself, could ever have doubts that something didn't fully go fair.


BTW: When nukeshields drop, it's useless to try and nuke Heraklion :). One can never nuke Heraklion. I took care of that a long time ago ;). Trust me...people have tried.

Problem could be that there are 10 cities.
That means that any of 10 alliances know of 1 rabban-city. Even if you pay attention and have some suspicions you will fight against 9 other alliances, because everyone will try to hold "his" city - at last it will be a question of :geo

Right so you only see the message if you own the city and you cant see the message even if its one of your alliances citys and you also need to own all ten citys yourself....

If this game is in fact possible to win, i think that the reward should handed out to all members of the winning alliance, as no single person will have a hope in hell of winning before the reset.
That way, Luke can design several types of games...
i.e. Big games, like this, for alliance awards and Smaller games for individual awards.

I have a feeling that heraklion is the prize so that would be impossible

we did all what the game said.
we took over all of the 10 secret cities and took over heraklion.

And i had all 11 ( 10 + heraklion ) for about 4 hours :p

So it seems like 10 cities wasn't too hard to obtain aferall. I don't think we need to reduce cities in future games to come. I hope we have this game next round again.

Yeh - I can't believe we didn't hit that one...Well, we did, but we didn't take it.

There was some debate about whether or not 10 cities would be unattainable, but commendations to those who were tenacious enough to go fo rit - And big grats to the victor(s).

I think most alliances were going with the strategy of first finding out what cities are "special" then trying to hold them once all 10 was found. Its going to be interesting to see if this strategy is used next round by all those who didn't missed out... I have a feeling that this game may get harder and harder to beat :)

I think its a good idea, but one month is too short time to get enough money to conquer 10 citys, supposing that you know which ones are the special ones. 3-6 months could be better

volli and me found all 10 within 18 days and i was 7 days offline...

so one month is long enough as i think :P
