In the UK version of the game when the player is down to the last two boxes, occasionally, the banker offers them "The swap". The player then has to decide whether they want to keep the box they originally chose or swap for the other remaining box.

What are the chances of introducing this?

I don't see an agregate value or how can this make the game more enjoyable, this would just add another click to the game, at least i know i would stick to my initial choice, given that this would be just a random automated feature.

You wouldn't stop and think about what you want to do?

A number of senarios, using the values above (10k and 1 geo)..
1. You are offered the swap... you decide to keep your original box... your box had 1 geo.. You then wish you had took the swap.
2. You are offered the swap.... you decide to swap with the other box... your original box has 10k and you gave it away.

I'm sure the UK TV version wouldn't have introduced it if it was any good.

The diference is that it is a TV show, so there are other reasons behind that swap, like for instance, to consume more time, or to put the player to make a desicion while listening to the live audience, half asking to swap and the other half asking not to. In this case is a programmed game, so it's a bit different, but hey, if the coders want to do it, i have nothing against it, i just don't see the benefits.

Swapping the box picked at any time is completely irrelevant. It does absolutely nothing to increase or decrease your odds at anything. it's a complete waste if you ask me. maybe people in the UK are just not bright enough to figure that out :nana

But it does help on the frustration factor though :p

Getting the opportunity to swap...maybe using it....and by doing that making the wrong choice and ending up with the low one.
It's just to make it harder on folks.
Though however I myself always hate it...again with the choices etc.

If enough people like it here however, I could do that.
Props to wesleys however for thinking along.

This doesnt happen in the Australian version, and I _think_ there is more cases to open in the Aussie version, plus like the first 2-3 rounds you open 5 cases and the last 3-4 rounds you only open 1 at a time. But cant comment as I dont really watch tv at all, I am too busy with other things :D

But we all know the real(original) version is the Dutch one :D

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deal_or_No_Deal

The british version is a direct exact copy from the Dutch one.
After that came the 'weekend million' version from the USA.
With much more cases, higher numbers, and babes instead of other contestants.

I dont know the idea of the swap is kinda dumb, but then again had i swapped my 1 geo case for 10k i wouldve made 9999 geos:sad, so it goes both ways, its just another thing to make you feel bad when you lose
