View Full Version : Who here owns a digital photoframe?
Help.
I got a digital photoframe for Christmas(present from Amy), but I'm having a problem.
I use a 2Gb memorycard, and have about 4,000 photo's on it.
But it will only show me 500(exactly 500) photo's before it starts at number 1 again.
Now first I put them all in 1 map, and now I made a lot of different maps each containing about 99(never more) photo's.
Still stops at 500.
Anyone?

hhmira 12-29-2007, 08:37 PM maybe seems really ridiculous me saying that, but wtf....
isnīt there any relation with the format type of the card?
I heard that for HDs, when it is formated in FAT32 you have similar problems, so to run latest version of windows, the HD must be formated as NTSF.
Is there a way to chose the format type of the card? Well, if so, why not try it? :o
edit: I saw one of my cards (with 256mb) and can see it can be formated in 2 ways: FAT and FAT32... So there is a possibility of that works....
No already tried both FAT and FAT32.
And tried Memorystick and Secure Digital.
And if it was a problem with that, it should break off at 512 files right?
Not at exactly 500 files.
I mean...500 is not a number a computer would do anything with.
The strange thing is that when you have more than 500 files, and you turn the photophrame on, it first gives you a message: Will play the first 500 files only.
So I"m wondering if anyone has any experience with it.
Nowhere does it say the photophrame can play only 500 files, and reading on the internet some(though with other brands) have thousands of files on it.
ghetto bob 12-30-2007, 12:13 AM So it seems as though the frame itself only can count to 500. I wonder if you do a search for mods/hacks against the model name/number. Certainly you can't be the only one that wants the frame to show more pictures...
Joedeuces124 12-30-2007, 03:16 AM Post the make and model of the Photo Frame. ill let you know.
Eh Joe....your avatar is confusing :growse (and might be to others as well).
Anyway.
Make: Xiron.
Model: DPF56TA
I couldn't find anything on it particularly.
LuckyLuciano 12-30-2007, 09:02 AM mine had an option to show first 500 or show all
little button on the top right side of the frame activates the menu
Snail 12-30-2007, 10:47 AM well i would love to help, but i went out the other day to go and buy 1....only to find out it costs R1000 (for those of you that dont know that's enough to buy about 100 2L milk bottles here in SA) so i didnt bother spending any cash lol
Eh this one actually doesn't have a menu.
Just play/pause, next/brighter, previous/less bright, rotate and normal/crop.

*edit* on a side note. I looked up the model and seen it on an auction site of some form for 40 euro which is about 58-59 us....which is pretty darn cheap...most of the ones I see around here are over 100 us.
I would think 1 of 2 things
1. It's not a great model and doesn't the ability to play more than 500???
2. Other people are having the same problem and are dumping them on auctions???
shrug...I paid like 30 bucks for a little keychain one and it blows..hahahahaha
I would think most software is the same.
THere is not much reason to play 500, when it's easier for the software to play more.
Like most divx players have the same software.
As for the price....here in Holland they are almost all the same price like you said there. For this size that is.
Cheapest is about 30 euro(40-45 dollars?).
More expensive ones have remote control.
For the 120 dollars, you have the bigger sized ones here.

Hmmm confusing????? How so it s a picture of some guys dogs. They are quite cute :)
From what I can tell Luke it only has the ability to play the 500 pics like others have said. Couldn't find too much info here , Sorry

that would be a mistake my friend
If you are hard up for an avatar I'll find you one that would fit that winning personality of yours.......is a pile of steaming poo permitted on the forums?

Joedeuces124 01-02-2008, 07:04 PM I liked it and was gonna use it but...
That image is too large. The maximum dimensions are 100 by 100 pixels.
