Halloween

I always like too hear how different parts of the world do holidays. So i was wondering how is Halloween is your part of the world.
Here in the Texas its a holiday without closing everything down..I mean no day off from work holiday..lol..Its also a real big money maker for the economy..Halloween stuff comes out in the first part of sept..so almost 2 month in advance..
Here on halloween Oct 31st...just when it gets dark outside, kids will walk from house to house dressed up and say Trick or Treat, which then they get some type of candy and move too the next house.I wish they had a adult version and you go door to door and say beer me!! and you get a beer and go house too house.. :) (i need to work on that)...... any way..How is Halloween celebrated where you live??

NO halloween here its only in the USA!!!!

We dont have many halloween stuff in The Netherlands only small people who are walking together cross the streets ;yes

No halloween here either.
Only thing I always notice is some horror-flicks on the television.


*edit: well tonie...atleast your part of Holland has some Halloween activity then...here in Gelderland it's nothing.

halloween is big in canada too. it seems like it's getting smaller and smaller though. I remember when I was 5 or 6, halloween was HUGE, every house was decorated, most houses would give out candies, now the holiday is dieing it seems. less publicity about it, most people only put a pumpkin in front so children know that they can go there to collect candies but overall, even though it's still very popular, it wouldn't surprise me if it was to disappear in the next 15 years.

There's typically several "adult" Halloween parties which are typically just an excuse to act goofy and get plastered. Already had one this year in fact, it's usually good for a few laughs. Where else can you see Red Riding Hood whipping Jesus, or Elvis and Jesus singing?

In Brazil it is not a holiday, nor it is massively celebrated. I think it is a North America thing.

We have one party here or there, but made by some pubs just as an excuse to sell more beers and other alcohol drinks on a funnier way, or made by english schools to show some north american tradition.

On the other side, carnaval in brazil....... ;)

In Germany, Halloween is more and more celebrated like it is in the USA, little children run around and get their candy...

I´m not the one who likes dressing up very much, but I celebrate this day, cause it´s my birthday...

I agree....halloween has become a shell of when I was young. Now kids go out at 5-6 to get the candy. Parents suck! They've become too scared of the night. I would be out till 10-11 as a kid fillling my pillow cases! I am 31 now, and still dressing up! Never let the kid in you die. If you are staying home....give out candy.
