I am having a lot of problems with my GE(Google Earth.) It opens up, but says that I have firewalls blocking it when I don't. This prevents me from building any resources and making any income. I was wondering if there was another way I can get resource fields without using GE. My way would be of paying an admin 150 geos to plant the three resources and put some sort of timer on it so it tells me when I can give another 150 geos to the admin. Please someone help me out.

Sorry. We can't plant for you.
But where there is a problem, there is a solution.
You also turned off the windows firewall(when using windows) ?
No internet security at all on your pc?

Perhaps you have a built in firewall in your modem/router?

I havent installed anything. I took off all my firewalls and still nothing works. This really stinks for me because I can't make any income, which forces me not to play. This is also one of the reasons why I would like to charge 10 geos an issue for GEwar Times.

Have you tried uninstalling Google Earth and reinstalling it again?
There has to be a solution.

I tried everything. I did that at least 10 times and I even tried to repair it but nothing works.

You'd better post a screenshot of the message you got in GE

I cant upload a screenshot but here is what the Google Earth Error Message says-"We were unable to connect to Google Earth servers to activate your account. For information about how to resolve the problem, would you like to run a diagnoistic test? This test attempts to detect settings on your computer that might prevent Google Earth from functioning properly." I did what it told me to do which was take off any firewalls, but still nothing works and this message always pops up when I open Google Earth.

What operating system do you have?

Vista, XP, 2000, 98 etc..

Linux flavor?

Would help to know that. If you have XP what Service Pack? If you have SP1 you might want to upgrade to SP2 and that may solve your problems.

If worse comes to worse, get your computers restore disk out and reformat your computer and try again. :)

I know that sounds like a bad answer, but sometimes that works. Haha.

I have Windows XP. And I think I have SP2, but I am not sure if I upgraded so I really don't know at this point.

Right click My Computer, click properties
That will tell you everything about your machine

Did you download the latest version of GE?
The one with Google Sky?

If you did, try downloading an older version from the web.

And if you didn't have the newest, try that one now.
Somehow my favourite version is still version 3. Armies looked way better.

I did, I tried everything. I downloaded every version. Would it be possible if I gave you my password Luke and you planted my resources and then I would change my pass back to something different?

The problem with that NY is what are you going to do in another 36hours?? If you are relying on somebody to do it every 36 hours for you what happens when they cannot for one reason or another? I will offer to do them for you, but please understand that there will be times I am unable to for instance this weekend I am away Friday- Late Saturday. But you cannot change your password every 36 hours. Let me know, I have no intentions of passing you personal information on it is not my worth my position on staff.

Good idea, why don't we all ask Luke politely to plant resources for us, but we need to develop certain rules:
1. Next resource planting time can not exceed 1 hour from the due date.
2. Resources must be located to produce maximum amount for diamonts&oil.
3. Cotton fields must not be placed chaotically so eventually Luke must have 32-33 cotton fields planted in the same time.
4. Daily reports.
5. (optionally) convert all resources at least once a day.
6. would be nice if Luke could collect some jewels too.

Could you post a list of the firewalls installed on your system? This includes any kind of protection software (such as anti-virus). Also, if you have any kind of router or gateway connected to your internet line post the details on it (many routers/gateways have built in firewalls which require you to open ports for certain applications to work).

erm, hope you know GE's been using standard http port so if you can post on the forums, you have all necessary ports already open.
Fully agree on the list of the firewalls request, though if he have problems with detection Windows version he's under, not sure he'll be able to provide one.

I'd also try and visit http://maps.google.com/ to see if it's your ISP messing with it

LOL. :d :rofl

We should get a 'funniest post of the day' contest :D. This one would win.

But all in fairness...Nydeuces...I understand your problem...but I can't do that.
And it wouldn't solve your problem either.

Yes I just looked into it and found out it uses port 80 which must be open by default. I was under the impression that it used a different port since many applications like Google Earth do. But I am fairly certain that it is a software firewall that's doing it. In fact, I have a suspicion that he has Norton (I hate this thing) installed on his system. Either that, or he lives in a country blocking Google Earth (which I doubt because he's been here for a year). Run this (http://earth.google.com/getest.html) test (In Internet Explorer or with IE tab enabled if you use Firefox). If you pass all 3 tests administered, then there is something blocking Google Earth on your computer. If you don't pass the tests, then you are most likely being blocked from accessing those servers period. Hope this helps.
