yea i think its messed up too, if you have a fast connection an fast fingers you get brought down to the level of a slow typer because the limit keeps you from going at your own speed.

an to be honest the limit will not stop a person with a a script. with the limit all you would need was to have your program run at a delay.

all in all the limit is only hurting the fast typers, which if the majority of people that actually jewel

don't worry guys, i would never attempt to seriously jewel without being intoxicated in one way or another. i drank something a while ago, a lot more potent than any alcohol :)

lol but seeing as it is illegal for recreational use, i think it best to leave it unnamed lol

but getting back to original topic, something really needs to be done, cuase i can't jewel to my full potential and thats going to piss me off lol ;87 ;87 ;87

i tried that, i'm still getting the message.

so far, the most i got is 6 secs left. on average, it's about 4 secs even after i slowed down. 15 seconds between jewels is a snail's pace.

my only advantage is that i have dual-monitors, a dedicated keypad positioned relative to a quick response mouse connecting to the server through my home's fiber connection. is this change to punish people like us, or to catch scripters (the ones that can program {delay=900})?

i love how there's no admins on at all, after a reset - one of the most turbulent times in the game

I have just restarted after the reset and I must admit I think this 15 seconds jewel timer is an excellent idea..... Just kidding.... its probably the worst idea I have ever seen in the entire time I have been playing this damn game. ;ranting

I must admit that when the bank interest was taken away I considered not rejoining after the reset but decided that it may make things more interesting so why not give it a go... and then to be hit with this... what a joke...

Not only is it annoying that, before, I was able to get a jewel every 10 seconds or so it actually lets you get to the point where you enter the code before telling you that you have not let enough time pass between jewels.

Please, for the good of the game, would someone remove this ridiclous timer delay and let us all get on with playing the game at our own pace rather then having it governed to us.

Thank you.

Maybe it's me but I don't have a time delay problem. Obviously it could be that I haven't jewelled since the first day of the last reset and so I'm so slow that I don't notice but I don't think so.

What I really want to know, and there are a few postings suggesting that I'm not the only one, is: IS THERE A DAILY JEWEL LIMIT?

Timmetie

Also, if there is a daily jewel limit, how is a 15 second limit helping against fraud? Scripts usually take the time, they're pretty laid back programms whereas real people would kind of like to get their jeweling done fast.. It's pretty backwards.

Or if anything, give us a timer over the numbers or kick you right back in the numbers as it's killing me too.

If you think about this its actually quite funny....

Bank interest was taken away to encourage people to play more... now people are more active they are being restricted by a silly jewelling timer.

But seriously, I would think this would encourage more people to script jewelling because a script would not get frustrated having to enter a code 2/3 times just to be told you still have to wait a further 3-4 seconds before the code would be accepted.

I'm going back to being inactive until this is sorted.

Please tell me this is going to go away. I can't jewel at work and only have a couple hours of wifey tolerance at home.....

seriously...4 jewels a minutes is crazy....

Ok.

This is the second time I have ever jewelled, and the first time I have used hhmira's jewel file, and I get the wait message nearly every time. Usually it's about 3 or 4, but sometimes it goes up to 7 seconds. Coming from such a n00b jeweller, I think this really says how important it is to change this time limit. Please?

is there an official statement from the admins on this. Or a post I have missed. The reset is a great time in the game. Really poor this time. Not knowing when it is going to happen before and now not being able to play properly. It is so boring just staring at the screen and counting to 6 each jewel

Ok, you guys wanted jeweling to be the main source of everyones income once you took away bank interest. and now its 1 every 15 seconds, and I just found out only 600 a day? I want my money back for donating!! Thats completely rediculous. I only donated in order to be able to jewel, which im sure some others did too, nice way to lose five bucks. Im tired of this.

600 jewel cap is going to be too low in the later stages of the game when people are making 1k+ a day off cities.

... 600 jewels is too low as it is. can we please make it atleast 2k ?

2k? with 4 a minute tops? thats getting close to 10 hours of jeweling non-stop, probably more if you factor in stuff like realism. and as it rolls over that would be 10 hours of non stop jeweling every single day.

yea, right.

I did 2500 a day for 4 months straight last round.

treat it like a second job and it doesn't bother you as much.

Well according to the admins, active players are the ones that are supposed to have the advantage, so, a 2k limit, or no limit like it says when you sign up for donating, would make it that way.

Fine. But you do see how a cap hits cheaters more than regular players don't you?

You 2 might be exceptions (freaks) but you're probably some of the only ones. Also the game is still in beta and Luke has always wanted to get wrid of jeweling. He's just doing you the favor of building it off slowly before the new stuff gets in.

I'm personally looking forward more to a game where the smart player wins than a game where the person who spends 12 hours a day behind jeweling wins. Ofcourse your dedication will still keep you above other less dedicated people, but it's forcing them less to do something they don't like.

Anyway, ill take a bet that Luke is taking this game where he wants to and listening to the majority. If he kept listening to all of you no change would ever be made. Things that are added seem to get a nice reception but change never does.

If you suffer withdrawl signs you can jewel to the cap for me, you can keep 75% for yourself. ;)

You're saying that GEWar is trying to make a step forward. However, if this game evolves into a game of Diplomacy then the original name of this game should change.

I remember reading somewhere about Luke thinking about making a "classic" version of GEWar when this one evolves out of beta. With his permission, I bet there are some of us who would be willing to put up the money to fund the classic version of the game. If not, I have a large enough server to do it myself.

I enjoy playing this game because it reminds me so much of risk. You didn't have to lay with the dogs to come out smelling like roses. All you needed were a few allies and you could go far with your own ability, and I am seeing this turning into a let everyone be friends or you die.

And when you die, you will be so far behind to be able to make a comeback. Not having interest doesn't bother me. That makes things a lot more equal. However taking another prime source of income away (jeweling) does bother me.

As I see, the jewel time limit is no more. Or I were not fast enough to get it.

No you're right, it's gone : ).

And helo, i see your point but luke has to think of the majority and most people don't like jeweling. I personally like it and as long as my damn connection holds im jeweling all the time but you have to bow to majority apperently.

I'm still getting the 600 jewel error. Cleared my GE Cache and FF cache on both computers but I'm still getting the error. Even restarted both comps.

Did you do 1200 yesterday? Im not sure, but it doesnt seem like the limit was in place yesterday. Cause my first jewel today just happen to have the warning. I guess it might just be a coincidence. So maybe it carried over negatively or something?
