The nice looking Flashchat had to leave and make room for vBChat.
This because Flashchat really slowed down when it got busy.
Not only the chat, but it dragged the server with it.
I'll make some modifications on vBChat(like the smileys).

You can all make your own rooms again there.

Why not just set up an IRC channel on Freenode or another network so all the chatting is on a different server all together. Then just make a page with a java irc client. Would use little of your server and the chat would be super fast using an irc client.

Yeah I hate Java too. But the java client would just be the web based client. Most people wouldn't use it, they would use an actual IRC client like mirc or xchat. The java chat would just be there for someone who wants to ask a quick question or something. I've been using IRC for about 7 years and I still prefer it to any other "chat" programs.

Yeah but who wants to have an extra program (eg; an IRC client) running when GE is already so CPU hungry.. Java is CPU hungry too...

Mirc is just a little more cpu hungry than a telnet client. And that's very little. Irc clients are very lean compared to the browser that you'd use to get on vBchat.

For now, just PM me if you want to make a room permanent.
Or if I'm not here, just PM me the room to make with the password.

I've changed it back to flashchat because vBChat was slower then flashchat actually.
You might also have seen an error while I was updating it.
That was only there for 1 minute.

Yeah I thought the flashchat might actually slow the chat down, but it seems that other chats were slower.
