View Full Version : Sabotaging Resources.
RoswellJam 12-15-2005, 03:33 PM It seems to me that resources are fairly static, how about the option to send an army to sabotage a players resources such as burning an oil well or cotton field or causing a cave in at a diamond mine? These armies would probably cost more than a normal army.
The player who is sabotaged would get a message like "Player X has sabotaged X number of your mines /wells/fields and the production has been reduced to X for X days".
Of course, there would have to be a way to counter this but I am too tired to think of one at the moment.
Any thoughts?
His Lord Uberdude 12-15-2005, 03:58 PM I like the idea of attacking resources. I think the way to combat this is to keep armies guarding your resources.
Of course, this idea worked much better when we all had to share one field. "Hey, I want in! I'm gonna bomb this guy's out!"
Timmetie 12-15-2005, 03:58 PM maby this would be in one's homebase? because otherwise you'd ahve to create another "base" for everyone near the recourses.
then don't make it special armies, but just every time you attack a homebase and win, that person loses 1 mine. only repeatable once every 23 hours or so.

That sounds like a good idea and it puts the homebase back into play.

You just don't give up do you? ;)
Timmetie 12-15-2005, 04:54 PM never ever ever :D
never ever ever :D
Neither do I. Stealing recources would give players dozens of holes to 'cheat' I think. It's obvious that vacation-mode won't work, and it's also unrealistic.
But I don't like the idea of someone being able to rob someone empty while he is out of town for one or two weeks.
Timmetie 12-15-2005, 05:02 PM well then you'll like this idea, because stealing mines isn't stealing money, its stealing income.

That doesn't convince me.
Timmetie 12-15-2005, 05:24 PM goddamnit, every time you name a reason not to do it, i diffuse that reason and you just go on being stubborn.
