I liked Hixthebeast's idea of a geo lottery, so I'm starting this thread looking for approval from the admins that I can run a lottery.
Tickets would cost but 10 geos a piece (the person would send those geos to my account with their name and how many tickets they wish to purchase) and there would be one grand prize (75% of all geos submitted) and dozens of smaller prizes (15% of all geos submitted) and the final 10% would go to me (for doing all the work). I would not bias it in any way, and I would set up totally random numbers (eg the 121st person, the 137th person and the 59th person would win 50 geos, or something like that) and I would e-mail these numbers to one of the admins to prove it. It would not be instant win, as I would set a date, and after that, noone could buy any more tickets, and I would announce the winners.
So what do you guys think?

Somehow I seriously doubt that the admins will let you run the lottery AND keep 10% as profits. If there is a lottery, it will most likely be run by the admins so that smart players can't make a fortune running a lottery.

First of all a lottery has already been done and no one ever won except the person who ran it. Hardly anybody even entered it.

We should let admins concentrate on the important tasks, such as new features. But previous lotto systems in GEWar used some free web services, as far as I know. Maybe you are lucky and somebody posts a pair of links here for you...

I wouldn't mind.
It's upto the users how to spend their geo's.
It does take a lot of trust to just give your geo's to another player(plus if he decides to keep it, I will not interveine).
If anyone really wants an automatic lotto, they should post it under Feature Suggestions.
