Dunno if this has been suggested before, but when an army moves any distance, it will get tired, whereas an army waiting in a city should be at peak condition, so, if a player fights a battle with his/her army/ies as soon as they arrive at a city, then shouldn't the attacking army lose some of it's fighting power?

Does that make sense???

I think it does.

Would you guys be able to implement it?

Sounds like an interesting idea! :)

Lets see what the other players have to say, if they like it enough we will look into writing it into the game :cheesy

this opens a can of worms such as army experience and skills

i mean tired experienced troops wouldnt be as bad as inexperienced troops.

also what about things like morale?

there's a lot involved here.. i dont know if the can of worms should be opened just yet

i dnt like dis idea coz if u sendin a backup army from your base to your city which is quite far away, and someone that has a base closer than you is attacking it, they might get too much of an advantage over you, and considering it takes longer than them to get there already is that not enough of a disadvantage?

I figure since your armies only move once every 5 mins, they're actually spending most of their time sleeping. :D

I need a little more info about how the dice are rolled in a battle before I make a desicion like this.

I agree with ******, The next can of worms will totally change the nature of the game...

You start incorporating more roll playing characteristics for each army.

Right now its more about geos then armies.

All these features can work in well with my army XP suggestion. (of course it can ;) ).

Instead of always having your maximum XP all the time, it can be variable based on travel and rest periods up to it's maximum. So every 5 minutes you're travelling, you lose a certain percentage of your maximum XP (and if you attack as soon as you land this will affect your army's total hitpoints (see the thread! http://www.gewar.net/forums/showthread.php?t=542 )), or you lay seige to the town and wait to attack, or recuperate at a nearby town or homebase. Work it out so that if you travel half way around the world (the longest possible travel) you lose 50% of XP, but it regains back to the maximum at double the speed when stationary...

I'd need to know how far the longest trip is before I could give you the formula. But it is a good idea in my opinion. Possibly also it can only start reducing after the army has been travelling for an hour, as a short trip wouldn't be that draining. Anything can be done - right code monkeys?
