Poll to have three options

Island nations should have population of entire nation in it's capital.
Island nations should have population of specific island within archipelago only.
Island nations should still only have the city's population, same as every else.

Might want to change the wording for #1 and #2, make it clear the nation is more than 1 island.

Hey, I say if you add the city put the city's population.
But if it's an island e.g. Guam, Wake Island you should put the island's population. I do not think, however, that you should put entire archipelagoes.

Just thought I'd keep it near the top for a while.

Actually if it's acceptable to include urban agglomerations (where two large cities are too close to put both in, we put it in as one BIG city), then the island population can figure with this quite easily.

Depends on the islands. I think if the archepellago is large enough to have two or more significant cities then only the largest city's population should be used. Thusly, Fiji would have the population of the entire country, while Honolulu would only use the population of the city.

this might be a little more work Blitz, but i think that it's the most sensible suggestion of how to move forward with this.
