View Full Version : EXCLUSIVE - RESET
fluteflute 11-26-2006, 02:01 PM Welcome back to Al Gewaria - here today we have some exclusive news - just in.
Luke has announced the game will be reset!
The red label we all hate has taken a position of higher importance than ever before - it is now above the private messages row!

In another twist, Luke has revealed that he might raise the value of jewels! Which we here at Al Gewaria think is a bit strange as surely as it's a reset there will be more jewels available and so the value of jewels will go down. Tell us what you think in our poll.
Now the race is on - who will win in this round and be the top player. Who will be the top alliance? No-one knows. No-one except the god Luke who can see into the future.
scaryhotdog 11-26-2006, 02:06 PM Jewels going up or down won't make a difference as they will be the same price for everyone, but I would prefer them to be higher! BRING ON THE RESET...my jeweling finger is ready :p
What we need is a bank maximum. About 50.000 Geos.
Odysea 11-26-2006, 02:45 PM I can assure you in the next game, GDi will be top!! and thats a PROMISE

I doubt it.
emperor55 11-26-2006, 02:57 PM I doubt it.
hehehe well anyhow a reset would be good anyhow. I think it would be fun to start back form the begining.
palau 11-26-2006, 03:11 PM I think the more jewels pay out, the longer you need to jewel.
It's because they stay as the main source of income for longer time...
tHE_fOOL 11-26-2006, 03:16 PM I think the 2500 geo limit should be inceased to 4k, thatway you have a chance to do some damage and get a city without spending all of your geos on just the attack
nativ 11-26-2006, 03:40 PM I think that the first thing that should be done is
REMOVING / FIXING THE 20 ARMY LIMIT
I know you guys promissed it will take over a week...
* or if you can improve the performance of the script, please just adjust the limit to 5 x cities owned or something like that.
I know this involves more programming, but it at least something that is doable, and can solve the problem, until the army script is getting a face lift (which might take longer than expected)
Mclanahan 11-26-2006, 05:23 PM I agree with raising the limit also i think 5k would be better it's a nice round number and you could take a city and defend it.
Also as far as jeweling i think an exchange rate for maybe 2.0 would be good or even stretch to 3 and that would make it a worth wild source of income and i would most likely do it more.
With 2500 geos + resources you can come out with about 50,000 troops.
To get your first city I think thats already too much, but I don't really see the point in making it more.
It would just mean people can save longer, while we are trying to do the opposite.
Suicidal 11-26-2006, 05:43 PM I agree.....I only hit the 2500 limit a few weeks ago, but I bought 25K troops and waited to hit the limit again! This way, you could have unlimited troops anyway. The limit should go down if anything.

you have a fast computer and can jewel at a decent rate, I can't do more than 1-2 jpm so I can't manage something like that
Generic42 11-26-2006, 05:48 PM I calculated getting 70K easy but it takes a exponentially longer as you continue getting troops.. something around a few weeks to get over 70K
But if you want a higher limit, DONATE
As for jewelling and other financial stuff(on the other thread I read about resources that should go up), it doesn't matter at all.
If stuff like jewels and resources go up for you, they go up for someone else too.
It's all the same.
If jewelling would go back to what it was over a year ago(0.25geos), it would still be the same. As your opponent also gets 0.25 geos.
Not that they will go down. Just trying to make my point that it's only psychological.
tHE_fOOL 11-26-2006, 06:04 PM well I like the psychological boost

But if Nuke & Troops cost the same and the value of the jewel increases, this would lead to inflation wouldn't it? ;yes

2500 :geo actually equals 33,333.333333333 troops.
Generic42 11-26-2006, 06:20 PM 2500 :geo actually equals 33,333.333333333 troops. Then factor in 10k of each resource, also people will buy some troops, save up to 2500, buy more, save up, buy more until their income is pretty close to daily expenses, then attack with 50K+
Krizdo4 11-27-2006, 12:03 AM I'd prefer them to be worth less, at least until finals are over. I won't have much time for jeweling so I won't far as far behind having them worth less.
mAverik 11-27-2006, 02:59 AM right now, most people complain about jeweling, and rightfully so, its extremely boring. i didn't join to play this game to jewel all the time.
if it gets more lucrative, the patient people who can jewel a lot (morons), will have an edge, and i would hate that!
the whole point of this game that i liked is the relaxed pace. economic management is simple, doesn't require too much time a day. i don't want to be forced to jewel all the time to match the competition. where's the strategy in that?
at the current price, jeweling an hour a day at around 6 jewels a minute would give people around 500 geos. i think that's ok. if someone can stand to do it that long, sure, i don't mind giving them some compensation for their efforts. but if that rises to a 1000 geos say, it would start unbalancing the game, forcing everyone else to jewel as well.
so keep it as it is, thats my vote.
