I would suggest to have more than one location to drill for oil, plant cotton or dig for diamadons. For instance, why not be able to extract oil from the North Sea or from Alberta, with variations in the total production and / or produtivity in the different regions?

makes sense, although, if one region produced a greater supply of a certain resource, why use the others? unless maybe some lasted longer, and were slower, but gave more eventually and vice versa... :cool:

That's what I had in my. For instance Alberta produces oil from tar sands. Since it is harder to extract oil, the production could be inferior, but last longer.
