What day and time will the 1,000th member sign up to GEWar?

Use military time to avoid confusion. The time zone will be Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time (AEDST) which is +11 GMT, just because that is where I live and what my computer's clock says. In other words, you figure out the time difference to me instead of vice-versa.

HERE IS A TIMEZONE CONVERTER TO MAKE IT EASY (http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc) - I live in Australia/Sydney.

First prize will be 1500 Geos

The rules are simple -

1 - In this thread type the day and time you think the 1,000th person will become a GEWar member.

2 - Absolutely no entries after the 900th member joins. We will lock this thread as soon as possible after number 900 signs up.

3 - We will take the day, hour, and minute that person 1,000 signs up and then figure out who was closest. It doesn't matter if your guess is prior to or after number 1,000. (example - #1,000 signs up at 1:00 PM on Thursday. Andy guessed Thursday 12:55 and Betty guessed Thursday 13:05. They both missed by five minutes.)

4 - In the event of a tie, whoever submitted the winning entry earlier will be the winner.

5 - One entry per member, and you cannot change your guess after you have posted it.

6 - If we forgot something, we will change the rules in the middle of the contest.

7 - NO FAKE ACCOUNTS! If we find you we will ban both accounts and your IP.

8 - The judges' decision is final.

9 - It is all for fun.

10 - Allow about a week after the contest ends for bank transfer (should be quicker, but we may be busy).

Wow, I didnt notice the discrepancy, in that case we will be going off the counter on the forum homepage, I have no way of checking what time someone downloaded a .kml so we have to go off registration time ;)

I think somebody who just got their ass handed to them doesn't appreciate the hard work and effort that players put in to gain cities and do good in the game.

Here's a few pointers for being successful in life:

1. Don't insult an 800+ member community because you lack the skill or patience to succeed at a difficult online war game.

2. If you're gonna do that anyway, post it in the proper section so that the mods don't have to spend time cleaning up your ****.

3. Don't be surprised if your account suddenly vanishes into thin air.

4. If you wanna try to sound cool and imposing, it wouldn't hurt you to learn how to write in english. I mean, we can live with the occasional typing error,
but when you spell almost every other word wrong, call the professional players "Newbs" because they stomped your ass the moment you tried to take their base with your 100 man army, and act like a general moron,
it gives us the impression that you are some middle school kid who knows nothing about tactics and has the attention span of a fly.

Thank you, with these tips, hopefully, by the time you graduate from high school in ten years, you will live a successful life as an assistant banker.

I can imagine you are pissed. You, richard and Vondutch have always used the secret saving, and last game you saved up to 92k geos and came out, all with the same IP adress I must add and also transferring money within that IP adress to 1 account.
That alone is a reason for a ban, and so is what you write in a topic like this.
The game is in beta also so things are bound to change to try and make everyone happy. Now if your Super Mario suddenly changed rules, there's a reason to be pissed, but in this case you should just have paid attention to the big red sign saying 'READ THIS' above your resources.

This thread is also now not locked because it went offtopic, but because we're getting close to a 1000 members, so now guessing would get too easy.

The membership increased by 11% in just 14.5 hours!

That's 7 people an hour compared to 900 people since the game began.

At this rate maxxx will easily win the best guess for the 10,000th member :)

well, the far out guesses(including mine) were made without doing proper research. I didn't think we were getting members THAT fast, figured this was an unpopular game that was too time consuming and advanced for the general public. Guess I was wrong.

We've actually gained 22 members again in the last 12 hours on oldyearsday.
Since christmas we've had a few days we gained about 75 members on 1 day.

So it's going really well actually. :)
