The thread was deleted by araT.I believe it was a user asking for tips on the location of one of the puzzles from users who already found it. ;)
That's what this poll was about.
In an answer I said that I'd stop doing it then.
Seeing how this poll turned out, most people think that it's not cheating... so I've pretty much stopped doing the puzzles :)

Since I can´t jewel for geos (I like to do that), and can´t look for chalenger places (I like this more), there is only the stockmarket to try...

Yes luke, thanks. I live for those puzzles, they help me build up troops to invade new cities. Also, I recommend you try a few unusual ones, like HHmira's riddle, to give the puzzles more variety.

I would put more, but the geos are low right now.
I lost about 600 geos with the stock market :growse :'( :mad: :sad :o

Yes that would be good. I'm better at riddles and puzzles than I am at randomly spinning the globe and zooming in to try and find a generic hard to find location(FOR HOURS).

No, I gather not... it was about people asking other people to give them the answers to the riddles in the "games for geos" thing. Basically they got the reward without the work. Although I might be wrong cause I didn't get to see the thread.

I never got the geos and i never got the answers so really there is no point in this thread anymore...

It was about if it's right to ask for help or PM others the answer in theory.

I kept Radeons name out of it, as did araT by deleting the thread, because he didn't get the answer and it was more about the overall if people should PM eachother the correct answer.
And because dozens of people started PM'ing eachother with the right answer. :p
It's quite easy to see also. Check who's online after someone got the correct answer and look at who they are PM'ing.
A few moments later I get a PM with the exact same answer from the guy who just got PM'ed ;)

So a new strategy is needed to keep this alive.

obviously there wont be as many winners, but you could just say the first X many people will get prizes... It won't eliminate it entirely but it should help. You can't give 20 people the answer if only 2 will get anything. Well, you could, but it wouldn't make any sense.

The problem is that people at the other side of the world are sleeping when I post the puzzles. So they would never stand a chance if there would only be 2 winners ;)

Then only let people in one hemisphere or another answer it. (might be hard to verify where they live, but still...)
Edit: or just give half- or quarter-prizes for people who arent in the specified time zone...oh wait, back to the first problem...

I have to say that I voted for it not being cheating without realising exactly what the thread was all about. When I saw the thread the link wasn't working so I didn't know it was about PMing puzzle answers.

I thought it referred to posting messages in the forum asking for help. As this happens all the time, and as everybody can see the answer, I couldn't see why this would be considered cheating.

PMing riddle answers = definitely cheating.

I hope you can get over the problem Luke - I like the puzzles, bring back the puzzles!

I think the puzzles and riddles are great. Maybe you could give 24hrs notice before posting a each puzzle. That way sleeping people don't get such a big advantage.

Or maybe set a time-limit for each puzzle, eg you have to answer within 12hrs. Then maybe when somebody gives the right answer to a puzzle, then disable their PM's until that particular puzzle is finished.

Just some ideas. It would be a shame to lose the puzzles to cheaters.
