Just curious. Post your gas prices here.
In America ours is in gallons (I know that is different then the rest of the world but just go with it).
In Iowa I am paying $2.59 per gallon.
What are you paying?
Edit*** I am also driving 15 miles, one way, to work each day with a car that gets almost 30 miles to the gallon. If you want include this info too. Curious minds want to know. Thanks!!!

In the UK our price is around 90p per litre (1.58 USD, 1.30 EUR).
This is going to get really confusing so try to stay with me.
1 US gallon is 3.785 Litres
1 UK gallon is 4.545 Litres.
So in the UK to buy:
1 US gallon of fuel will be £3.40 (5.92 USD, 4.89 EUR).
1 UK gallon of fuel will be £4.09 (7.12 USD, 5.88 EUR).
I travel 25 miles, one way, to work each day.
My car does about 35 miles to the UK gallon (30 miles to the US gallon)
I think my figures are correct. :)

The gas prices in the UK are ridiculously high, I recently went on holiday to the Canary Islands and it was 0.67 euros per litre I think, and to fill up the tank of a 1.5 diesel engine it only cost 8-9 euros!

Here in Britain we are doing our best to discourage global warming - at least that's what the government blames the prices on. I think at least 75% of the price of petrol (I assume that's what you mean by "gas") is tax.

Nothing wrong with Imperial measurements. After all, we (the British) gave them to you! You could try not messing around with them though :)

How about those of you farther East than the UK???

It's 2.64 for Regular in Greenville, NC. I believe it's 2.77 for Premium which I get for my car.
Unforunately I'm not helping things by driving a V8 that get's 16-20 MPG in Greenville (in Raleigh I get 20+ MPG, Greenville is the Gas hole for numerous reasons...) On a highway trip I get around 25 MPG, it's just the darn timing of stoplights in Greenville ;ranting
My wife has a Vibe (waiting for snide comments :)) that evens things out since it's a 4 cylinder and she get's around 28-30 MPG in the city.
By the time I leave work it'll probably have gone up another 10 cents...
Too bad several hundred billion couldn't have been spent on alternative fuels research and not trying to grab it from another country...

Does that have the 10% ethanol mixed in? I believe that helps with the price since it's subsidized.
Last time I checked there were quite a few E85 stations in Minnesota (even one in my hometown). I would consider getting a fuel flexible vehicle if such things were available in Eastern NC.
Of course, from what I've heard making ethanol from corn costs more energy than it returns, but that's why more research needs to be done.

Well... then that may be the cheapest place to tank in western Europe.
It is due to tax exceptions, and maybe one of the reasons they are called "the lucky islands". In the rest of Spain a liter costs around 1 euro.
Gas costs almost 1.30 euro in Germany, may have changed cause I haven't tank myself for a while.

Nope, no ethanol in that stuff.
However, at many stations you can get 85% ethanol which is a full $0.80 cheaper. our cars are too old to take it though. :sad

Regular (87) - $2.67 / gallon
Mid-grade (89) - $2.77 / gallon
Premium (93) - $2.87 / gallon
Nope, no ethanol in that stuff.
It must be the midgrade with 10% ethanol since that was what I used in my old car when in lived in Minnesota and Iowa.

So I guess you mean petrol and not Gas ? Mine has had a Gas Conversion, and is so much cheaper to run. Good Old imported American Jeep at that - so they are not cheap to run.
Petrol - Unleaded is around $1.19 per Litre.
Petrol - Premium is around $1.26 per Litre.
Gas is around $0.529 per Litre.
But not sure how the conversion rates work, maybe someone can post how to work that out. These prices are Metropolitan area in Perth, Western Australia. In the country, they climb considearbly. We also have a Website dedicated to the prices over here at http://www.fuelwatch.com.au/ which shows the lowest price and also the average mean price across the Metro area.
Perth has a very Large metro area, which is why there can be so much variation. I am North of the River.
Also... When are you guys gonna go Metric ? It is a much better and accurate system than what you are currently using, but that is getting off topic...sorry !!!! lol

The petrol in Western Australia sure is cheep compared to down here (Tasmania). They say Bass Straight is the most expensive bit of water to cross in the world lol
BTW The RACT have a similar petrol price watch down here as well http://www.ract.com.au/drawpage.cgi?region=all&drivewayfilling=0&type=&sort=suburb&date=2006-04-06&s=0&ss=611&task=SHOWPRICES#results

Call me a conspiracy theorist but, the only reason (apart from EU bureaucracy) that petrol is sold by the litre in the UK is so that the "real" price per gallon is hidden. If more people here realised that the price was steadily approaching £5 per gallon there would be more fuel protests than there have been.

It really works like this AraT
You pay £1.19 which converts to 50 in uk terms.
Heck I can remember when it was 25p A GALLON!!! and the oil that went into my two stroke moped cost more than the petrol.
In real terms though here in the UK Petrol(Gas) is 90.9p a litre and Diesel is 94.9
In Spain petrols 64p(equivalent) in France it's 78p this is all in real terms of course.
The answer is what we have all know for some time....we all move to Oztralia (not that tazzy bit though unless you can play duelling banjo's) and save cash.
