View Full Version : Smallest Town On Earth
Who knows what the smallest town on earth is?
No Durbuy, Belgium as it's too close to Brussels.
One that google earth can even find.
I want to know because I think it's fun to add the smallest town on earth to the game as well.
Timmetie 12-19-2005, 09:15 PM isn't there a 20 people town somewhere in friesland? or is that too close to amsterdam?
try syberia, or central australia.
Hum supposedly has 22 residents.

Can google earth find that one? That would also be important.

Details... The Hum web site has a map. I can't get into GE at the moment since I'm at work, but I can try to find it in a little while.
Well if the coordinates are there...couldn't find them yet.
But perhaps Blitz can and then this would be a great town to add.
Google is awesome...
KML attached (someone else had already found it: http://www.tageo.com/index-e-hr-v-04-d-m121089.htm) and here's the link in Google Maps:

Blitzkrieg 12-19-2005, 09:53 PM Hum is on the edge of the city polygon for Trieste
jammo 12-19-2005, 10:04 PM William Creek in South Australia has a population of 16.
It contains the world's most remote pub.
speedfreak227 12-19-2005, 10:36 PM is it going to be a bonus city? maybe one where illicit drugs are manufactured underground!

mitsubishievo_6 12-21-2005, 06:09 PM Well whilst on holiday in Scotland, I went through a place called Drumguish. If you blinked you missed it, with a total of 4 houses and a whiskey distillery, this has got to be a candidate.
And the whiskey distillery could be the bonus resource!
Timmetie 12-21-2005, 06:17 PM yes whisky, for every minute beezer is online you get 5 geo's!

well that has to be the winner.
(unless ghost towns count??) :D
Mythdraug 12-30-2005, 03:18 PM Yes, Minowi is probably the winner. But unfortunately, they have had a population decrease since the census.
Minowi, Nebraska, has only one resident, 71 year old Elsie Eiler. When Elsie’s late husband, Rudy, was diagnosed with terminal cancer, he confided a dream: “He wanted to turn his [personal book] collection into a public library.” Now the tiny disorganized and eclectic library, home to Rudy’s 5,000 or so volumes, sits beside Minowi’s other public building – the bar that Elsie runs. Rudy’s library runs on the honor system: “take what you want, return it when you can.”
Wow, we HAVE to add it then! that would be great! hahaha

Mythdraug 12-30-2005, 03:28 PM And we have the spelling wrong...
Nebraska.gov lists it as Monowi. http://www.unicam.state.ne.us/app_rev/uses/data_city_use.htm
GE can find Monowi, NE.
Wikipedia has an entry for it that states, "According to the United States Census Bureau, only 4 places in the United States had a population of one person in 2000: Ervings, New Hampshire; New Amsterdam, Indiana; Hibberts, Maine; and Lost Springs, Wyoming."
ADD EM ALL! MUWAHAHAHAHA!
ok folks, I'm off to bed for the night, ciao :)
