Yes, diamond mines last shorter than others. If you create one it will tell you how long it will produce diamonds. This time varies from 3 to 7 days.

kk. also my Cotton Diamonds and Fish are at under 1.00 all day

To get resources ,if your a non donator (im assuming you are), you have to hold a city otherwise you dont get any income.
