I went ahead with what many saw as the most crucial problems first(before finishing 2 features).

Those are:

- Much less oil needed for travel. Most players complained it was too expensive now, which meant less wars. If correct, it should be about 40% cheaper now.

- Homebases can be placed closer to cities. The big problem was that new players couldn't download the city kml file yet, and it was extremely frustrating trying to find a place to plant your homebase. Especially now that we have more cities. Many new players would just give up. And even for those with city files, it could be very annoying to find a spot if you wished your homebase to be in your home country for example. As there won't be any huge problems with placing your homebase closer to a city(as we had that in the past) we allow it to be placed anywhere on land from now on.

Ptah: I was expecting some player to say that(about if its fair). But a risk I was willing to take, especially as so very many players were urging that the 'oilproblem' should be addressed asap. Rather fix it now than wait for the game to become even more stale.

Making some changes and adding some features in the hope of shaking things up so we can avoid a reset and let the round go for its full 4 months again.

Wondering how the homebases on the city will look in Ge, but should be interesting.

Oh and you are not the only thing refired up. Gewarriors.com is finally getting a bit of use too.

I agree it might look a bit weird if a homebase is set directly under a city but I guess we have to live with that. Imagine a guy from Poland registering who tries to find an empty spot in his country.
