View Full Version : Invalid Script Id Error
Propellerphant 02-22-2006, 12:32 AM I'm not sure if this goes in here or in bugs, and if its been posted before, sorry, but I'm trying to do some jeweling and I'm getting an "invalid script error". Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks,
Propellerphant
When/where/how do you get it? More information, please.
Propellerphant 02-22-2006, 12:43 AM Yea, sorry, here's some more info: when i go into GE, i go down to my jewel hunting file and where it normally says "click here for your next jewel location" it says "invalid id" and when i click on it it comes up with "invalid script id. refer to staff." I've sent Tara a PM cause Luke isn't on but yea if anyone knows how to help id appreciate it.
Thanks,
Propellerphant
toiletduck 02-22-2006, 12:51 AM i get that sometimes and all i do is redownload the file and then it works fine for me.
Propellerphant 02-22-2006, 12:54 AM hmmm... i tried that and it didnt work but i'll try again now...
EDIT: Yup just redownloaded it and its still not working...
Yeah, also clearing the GE cache helps in cases like this.
Propellerphant 02-22-2006, 01:13 AM I can't find a "clear cache" in GE, but I did clear the search history and it still isn't working... ho hum i guess GE just hates me ;raincloud
Brendo 02-22-2006, 01:20 AM I can't find a "clear cache" in GE, but I did clear the search history and it still isn't working... ho hum i guess GE just hates me ;raincloud
In GE:
Tools -> Options -> Cache
Clear Memory Cache
Clear Disk Cache
You said you redownloaded the jewel KML, but maybe you should try to do that again (LINK (http://www.gewar.net/war/getkml.php))
And also make sure you have converted all your jewels if you have any
Propellerphant 02-22-2006, 01:27 AM Yep did all those things brendo, but for the clearing the cache when i go into tools there is not "options". this may be because i have the mac version iono....

Mac version...it should work still - a few others around here use the mac version and it works for them (the kml files that is)
Do the other KMLs (cities, armies, etc.) work for you?
Any chance of posting a screenshot or something?
Does the 'invalid script error' part appear in the balloon? or where abouts?
I've heard this problem before.
It wasn't solved I'm afraid because the user found out that it did work on another computer. So I'm wondering now....do you have a firewall on? Software/Hardware/Windows firewall?
Propellerphant 02-22-2006, 03:56 PM I dont think I have a firewall, but I'll check. I didn't set up the machine im no so im not sure. I'll try dowloading my jewling kml on my other computer that's a PC and see if that works...
Thanks for all the help guys,
Propellerphant
Wolf_Web 02-22-2006, 11:51 PM I get this too, I'm just setting up. I set up home base no probs, the jewels give me the exact same error as the author of this thread, invalid id.
I've tried downloading it 5 times and always the same message, I've deleted the cache, disk and memory and still no go.

I have a winxp machine running zonealarm firewall.
Propellerphant 02-23-2006, 01:08 AM Yea, weird thing for me tho is that it DID work for a long time and then it randomly stopped working. Wolf_web i'd suggest you just try to jewel on a different comp, thats what I had to do...
Cornflake 03-02-2006, 02:26 PM ... same problem.
none of your hints hepls. :'(
Regards, Cornflake
Most of these problems seem to have occured when people try using a script to collect jewels. So at first make sure that is not the case :)
If that doesn't work, also try another pc and post here if that works or not.
Propellerphant 03-04-2006, 12:34 AM Yea i definately wasn't using a script. Im not THAT talented... but its all good I just do my jeweling on a different comp and its fine.
Cornflake 03-05-2006, 04:02 PM same problem on different PC... :rock
Cornflake 03-28-2006, 05:09 PM the problem is not solved.
No Solution? :'(
Whats happened?

To get back to this. How is it going now?
fahhem 04-12-2006, 06:23 PM I got the same problem when I tried jewelling over a proxy. I dunno why, but the moment I stopped using the proxy it worked again. Does it matter that I downloaded the kml normally and tried usign it over a proxy?
Google Earth uses Internet explorer's proxy settings for everything, even image-retrieving. Its fun to set up a redirecting proxy and redirect everything to a :p and see how the world turns out
stone 04-15-2006, 08:54 AM hey guys,i've got the same problem. i am a newbie and i've just establish my homebase, and download the jewel kml, when i open it ,it only give me this message:

Is there something wrong with my Account on the Server?
I also clear the whole Cache, but this didn't help either.
I'm using GoogleEarth 4.0.1563(beta)
---- Edit:
Some additional Stuff, i just recognized
Size Name
287 gehwar_jewels.kml
293 gewar_cotton.kml
295 gewar_diamonds.kml
I downloaded the Cotton and Diamonds file too and both work, i don't have the Money to plant Cotton or Dig for Diamonds but both Scripts work, only the Jewel Script doesn't.
Also the Jewel Script is the only one which starts with gehwar_ not with gewar_ like the working Ones.
Might it be the there was some API Changes and i need a new gewar_jewels.kml File?
---- Edit:
Hm i just downloaded the oil Thingie too and it works well, though it's filename also starts with gehwar_
Size Name
286 gehwar_oil.kml
What are the Sizes of your File Guys? Can you please post it, perhaps the Filesizes differ.
ltlasset 07-18-2006, 01:17 AM I am having the same problem and have an idea of what it may be.
The id number is tied to our account. our script downloads another kml file located at www.gewar.net/<number>. The problem is this file. We are given an invalid script because of a problem on the server, not on our end. Could the server not be generating valid jewel files for us?

How many people use your account? You realize, of course, that sharing an account among multiple people is against the rules.
ltlasset 07-18-2006, 01:31 AM Birq,
Us and our, are terms refering to - we who experience the problem - we do not share accounts, we share a common problem. i was under the assumption that by reading this thread that would be clear.

Sorry. My mistake.
Back to the question, though, it might be a problem of caching in GE and your web browser. Try completely empying the GE cache and your web browser's cache (files and cookies). I haven't seen it in forever, but the last time I did, clearing the cache worked like a champ.
ltlasset 07-18-2006, 01:42 AM I use linux, so i use a different version than most people who play. I cleared the cache in GE, and reloaded the jewel kml file. I also tried clearing the cache in firefox, since it is the browser i use, but i don't think that really had anything to do with it, since Linux doesnt have IE, therefore GE cannot use IE settings, and i doubt in linux that GE uses any settings from firefox. No change in condition. I still think it is a problem on the GE server side. I suspect that the problem may be fixed after the reset on the 20th. Maybe?
I'd be really surprised if that's the fix. The problem will most likely go away, but I don't think the server is the cause.
Why don't you upgrade to a real operating system? ( <-- Joke, if you can't tell)
crimpshrine27 01-31-2007, 01:18 PM yeah im experiencing this problem now also, tried everything in the thread, any new ideas ive missed? im completely new and can't get started without it it seems.
