View Full Version : Some changes.
1) The travel time for Troops is too long. -> Resize the half.
2) Make very fast air-troops, but they can’t occupied a city.
3) Bonus cities only 1%
4) No rate for GEOS in bank if someone has more then 5000 GEOS.
What is your opinion?
1) The travel time for Troops is too long. -> Resize the half.
No -- they already travel a whole heck of a lot faster than real troops.
2) Make very fast air-troops, but they can’t occupied a city.
Already in the works (sort of)
3) Bonus cities only 1%
No -- I don't think anyone would say they pay out too much since it costs so much to take and hold them
4) No rate for GEOS in bank if someone has more then 5000 GEOS.
No -- We have talked about lowering bank interest or having a sliding scale so more in the bank earns less interest, but there wasn't consensus.
Sorry Michael, I have to stand with Birq on this one.
Option 2 is getting worked on.
Option 1 is good I think. Makes it realistic.
Option 4 will not make you any friends here ;)
And then there is option 3...bonus cities indeed give a lot right now.
But then again...check the history of Riyadh.
The owner lost so much that even the high percentage doesn't cover it.
If it goes too high it might go down a little.
1) For someone who has to work (in real life) is it very hard. -> But it's okay.
2) Nice!
3) Okay, but I don't attack a bonus city. I need my 100,000 GEOS for better things. ;beer
4) Okay then I have each day 3,700 GEOS as rate. :love
But Michael...you have a point we are thinking of...something like a maximum or tiding the geos to cities....we need the perfect option.
YamuN 02-18-2006, 09:52 PM A maximum for what? Income?

There needs to be something done about savers, I don' case if there's no consesus, since when was GEwar a democracy?
Over 50k, perhaps even lower there should be 0% interest. There should be no incentive to save more than that point other than storing money for a larger attack. It's a simple as that.
Like the air troops idea, its not on the donator server...

With no cities it still takes a person a few months to get a real large amount of geos by saving unless he/she is jeweling every day also..and if so the person is putting time into there game and should result in some kind of reward which would be geos to play with...if a person holds large cities or a resource city the he/she needs large amounts of geos to be able to defend the city..its been talked about and changed many times..i think it also is good for the game when someone comes in with 3 or 400,000 geos and starts attacking..it gets people playing again...in the new game i found out even with 188k in bank the interest you make is not that much .For your total 188,043.85 geos banked, the interest rate is 3% for the first 10000 geos, 2% for the next 15000 geos, 1% for the next 20000 geos, 0.5% for the next 25000 geos, and 1% for the rest. = 2k aday
so i dont see a need to change that in the new game..any changes in this game is useless...

Well the interest incentive over 50k is minimal, it might as well be zero. So anyone from 50k to 500k would be on even terms. Basically you gain nothing by saving, except only for the long term.
Right now alliances are saving, such that they have enough savings to war of savings, it hugely disadvantages the few without that kind of cash. Any n00b start now will suffer, any non-donator who didn't get the chance to grab a city has no chance too.
I still think there should be a proper system for interest rates a bit like the "real world". Get a bunch of people, and every 2 weeks they will determine what the interest rate should be. If they feel the game is too "cool" they cut the interest rates, or the boundries and vice versa.
There's also been talk of attacking rewards, but then...Ive not really heard any big incentives coming on the donator game about that.
I got someone to make a real basic but flawed calculator of the amount of days you need to get x amount of geos.
http://jazhayre.co.uk/gewar/geointerest.html
Basically, for newb getting 600 resources a dat, going from 0 to 100k it will take them 70 days, for 100k to 200k it takes half that time. The system might be a little flawed, and might need adjusting...But I think thats wrong....

Jaz thats a very useful tool, if it also included the average amount of jewels one could do a day it would be great.
fluteflute 11-24-2006, 07:12 AM Does it take intrest into account though?
Does it take intrest into account though?
Yes..... That's the purpose of it :P
