I have been saying for a while that there is to much hate on the forum.
I have been trying to keep things more fun. So have a few others, some havnt.

So what about a fun area. Like me winding up itchy was for fun and people sidetracked and took fun out of it.
Would take a bit of moding to just delete nasty stuff or too serious, but a place where sarcasm and fun things from the real world can be posted with out the nasty crap.

So kind of the opposite of the colosseum?

Exactly the concept.

Yeah I think we already have that, in theory, and it's called everything not called Colosseum. Maybe we should start handing out infractions for thread hijacking and bloviating (lookin' at you Mongoose).

OK let me sum up what we have now.

1.) gewar fun stuff: gewar talk
2.) gewar nasty/trashtalk/flame war stuff: colosseum
2a.) flame war with higher profanity tolerance: www.gewarriors.com

3.) real life fun & serious stuff: General Discussion
4.) and there is the VIP forum for our honorable and mature gewar veterans...

I think the main problem is that people have contradicting opinions on what belongs to 1.) and what belongs to 2.). In my opinion, sarcasm, poking on other alliances, making fun with rabbits & aliens and all that belongs to 1.) It's getting difficult if a thread is drifting away in direction of flame war of player A vs B with occasional participation of C and D. Mods always have to estimate if you can split that away into a new thread in Colosseum and it is unavoidable that some people think a thread should have been moderated earlier, later, or not at all.
But yes, I agree, the forum would be more fun when you could effectively separate entertaining alliance talk from engaged flame war.

I'm not saying I always keep to this, sometimes I don't always take note (especially if alcohol related incompetence is involved), however generally I will try to only trashtalk/flame when possible in the Colosseum or in Alliance Talk. I've previously received comments from both players and Staff about my posts in Alliance Talk, however that forum area does come with the following description:

"Use this forum to discuss potential alliances or to smack talk other players. Please keep your language and attitude clean."

If things are getting heated in that forum area and that isn't what Staff intend it for, I'd suggest removing the fact you can smack talk there, otherwise some (like me) will push to the boundary of what is considered smack talk.

Well we could always do as we always used to and that is to split threads which get out of hand and move them to the colloseum.

I do think we should probably make more use of warriors for the trash stuff, also it might actually not scare the newbies so much by reading some of the stuff on the forums.

Rather than adding another forum here, lets make better use of the ones we have including http://www.gewarriors.com
