i last played in 2006...(yes i know i'm a slacker).
came back today, after getting an email for the new round, and i must admit the game has changed for the worst.
i know change is a good thing, but i find the new layout much harder to get around.
too many adverts, too much logging in, and menus too confusing.
ok, i need to spend a few days looking round and getting used to everything again, but the appeal when i last played was how simple it all was, and how easy it was to understand.
i will stick at it and see how it pans out, hope it gets easier.:hand

Constructive critisism is always usefull. So I hope you can explain what you mean.

I can explain some as well:
Advertisement: we actually have much less than in the old version. Perhaps someone has a screenshot to show. There were 5 banners always in each screen, in the old version.

Logging in:
Should not have changed. Should be exactly the same as it was. Perhaps you can explain?

Menus:
It's changed. So if you are still used to those in 2006, then yes it will take some getting used to. I think users that joined since the new version, would have the same complains about the old version.

Anyway, I hope you still do have fun. What I wonder though is how you could receive the email if you haven't played that long? The email was sent(atleast the system still says that in the log) to those that have atleast logged in once since last reset(begin June 2010).

xltim, one thing that has changed is the Level system. You are currently in "newbie land", it's a place to get use to how the game works before entering the "real world". After you feel comfortable, level up to the real world to play with everyone. And joing an alliance as it will help you get back into the game.

the email thingy...i think i must have logged in at some point when i was changing all my passwords, came across my GEwar account and changed that as well. must have been in the last year or so.

the newbie game..explains why there are so few people on the game at the moment, its a good idea tho as i've forgotton so much about the game i wouldn't last 2 mins with the regulars.

hope i didn't sound too harsh in my first post, didn't mean to.
