Uranium picture is still left from alpha, needs some love.

Resource areas are still a bit messed up. Cotton area is south of the marked area.

More later.

hmmm...what exactly do you mean? Can you please post screenshots and add your GE version number? (If you are really eager, try different versions! :p)

Uranium. In the game (browser) or in Google Earth? Kinda lost on this one and why it wasn't mentioned before.

Same with Cotton. The field is where it is. Maybe Google Earth changed in the past 3-4 years and we need to revisit the marker placement.

Go plant one of each.

Sorry not near ge right now.

thomas85
06-21-2010, 09:15 PM
Well there is still the strange thing that the old version of the game allowed planting 33 fields, the new version barely makes 20 possible. If you mean that, yes, it's known, but also low priority, I guess.

Not near GE (Haven't opened it in months). When you get a chance just add a screenshot and we can work from there.

Yep 20 is the max you can get with cotton now... I don't have a problem when doing my cotton or uranium resources

I think he is talking about the Green circle used to indicate a Uranium plant. Maybe a rock of some sort?

Peonboss

Sigh.
To elaborate so you will not get overwhelmed with 10 people diverting...

The uranium planted resource picture is a green blob you made in a hurry. It shows depicts nothing and was just a place marker till you found a nice one.
You can only see it when you are able to plant, and well, I am not at the moment. Next time you get a sec bring up ge and try and plant one.

The cotton field is s of its border. Again minor problem, but if you zoom in on the north border all the way you are no longer in the cotton field. Either the border got bumped a bit or ge got weird. This is prob a "deal with it", but you just gave me a hard time for not reporting things... so...... The circles have never been returned to their appropriate sizes so a maxed out cotton resource does not bring in the same amount as a maxed out diamond or oil. So the cotton resource city owner gets less income than it should. (but hey its 3rd so who cares.. That was a JOKE)

For example

Fish income:
1,110.60 Geos (2,468 fish from 13 fishing boats)
Oil income:
2,001.75 Geos (2,669 barrels from 15 oil wells)
Cotton income:
547.00 Geos (1,094 pounds from 17 cotton fields)
Diamond income:
1,360.80 Geos (1,296 carats from 4 diamond mines)

Cotton with 17 out a total of 21 max fields is bringing in 1/2 the income from fish. This has needed adjusting for a long time.

Both of these are very old and had already been reported. Figured they were in the todo when I am bored list, but since you seem to have forgotten them I am bringing them back up as per your req.

I could say, look who you get info from..
I could say, take the time and try harder...
I could say Nanner Nanner...

But I will say, hell no you cant have my kml. make your own... :)

Try, here is an idea, instead of a klm actually doing it the hard way and playing it like a puzzle.

But this is a bug thread, and your post was not a bug report.. MODS.. remove this man.....

Edit someone was talking about a report button... got to ask him where it is again...

I almost did 21 last reset, I was off by about a mile. You need to get the fields really tight together from the bottom to the top. 5 on the bottom, 5 on the cleavage of the 5 on the bottom, and so on. They need to be very tight and once you are at the top, you should have a very small space in the corner to plant another.

Nother vitally important bug that you need to fix RIGHT NOW.

You have upgraded your city of Riyadh with a repair the nuke shie for 168.00 Geos.

Can I buy more nuke shie's? and do they taste like su shie?

Not able to reproduce. (see attachment gewar_cottonField1.jpg). This is against the top border using ge 5.1 on Windows 7.

On the uranium image...yeah that had to be Trent's handy work. I'll find a better image....maybe a picture of Peonboss...30 little peonboss' with rings around them :)

come to think of it, I think this problem sometimes happens to me (GE 5.0, win XP).

@ PB: try zooming in to 3-4k ft and try moving more to the north. I have found that to sometimes work.

I'll look into it, but I doubt the coordinates are wrong (actually they haven't changed). There may be a problem with the way GE recognizes (fly to ground or something).

On the uranium picture...that took all of 20 seconds.

I wonder if nobody has recognized this bug yet:

The cotton generated is put into your account every hour.In addition, the current owner of the city of [insert city here] will get 4% of your cotton as taxes.

This is the same for all resources.

Only kidding haha! Since your promise of a nuke fest then I'm determined to get you to actually snap and do it, but unfortunately you seem cool so I don't want to do any of the things which cause that! New pic looks good, but I can't exactly say the old one was so inappropriate that I ever felt the need to go on a rant about it and developers.......unlike some.

Here's a minor bug I think hasn't been mentioned. It might not be a bug at all actually, more of a short-coming of vBulletin.

Does anyone ever use the forum jump drop down at the bottom right of the forum? I do. Whenever I am reading a thread, I automatically go to the bottom right of the page when finished and use the forum jump to bring me to the previous board main page, then go from there.

Here is what I have found to be tedious: when viewing a social group, the forum jump brings you to the userCP. Can that be changed so it brings you back to the social group main page or forum?

That's cool Prophet, I think I speak for everyone when I say we really appreciate your communication about game ideas, features, and bugs this round. I know you get sick of us going on and on, but it's really good to see ideas in the pot.

One more bug, only a minor irritation and by no means important, but if you're looking to capture these things I'll post it.

In Google Earth, when using the built in GE browser, any GEWar page that is displayed is preceded by a script error message box (see attached pic). Clicking yes continues without any issues. This happens for all GEWar pages viewed in the built in GE browser (except jewel location pages), but doesn't happen if the web pages open in a separate browser window.

I've also got a feature suggestion, although it's only a basic but quite useful one I think. Would it be possible for a notification message to be sent to an alliance leader when a player leaves the alliance. This can often be quite difficult to notice sometimes.

Another feature suggestion I have is the ability to fully train an army with the click of one button, rather than having to do the upgrade 3 times separately.

Improving experience.

The three tier system sucks. If the army has any exp already you have to use the middle option to train max amount. Should really be a max out option.. So you can one click max training.

I've noticed this too now you mention it. If the army is 1.00 experience, the middle option upgrades by the amount it says. However, if your army has experience of 1.01 or higher, it seems that the middle option upgrades the experience by an amount that is higher than what is listed in the dropdown box.

Yeah the army experience can never go above 2.0 with training, but the presentation is really screwy. I think there used to be something in there to limit the training to once every x hours, and that might be the cause of the break...no idea really.

I have some other concepts on training, but nothing that's even close to done.

The last one I've got which I've noticed is that the FAQ item on the Forum menu bar goes to what appears to be a separate location to the Wiki area. Is there a reason to have what appears to be two separate areas for game help/information? If not, doesn't this just double the amount of admin work for staff with updates?

This could also be potentially confusing for new players and cause them to miss out on info that exists under one area but not the other.

thomas85

The FAQ is intended to give short information that allows you to start playing. The wiki is designed to give detailed info.

Try download this microsoft script debugger:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/confirmation.aspx?familyId=2f465be0-94fd-4569-b3c4-dffdf19ccd99&displayLang=en

if it works, you will get a new error with the internal browser, which gives you the option to not see the error anymore.

This fix is courtesy of ghostdog (http://gewar.net/forum/member.php?userid=41689) (so be sure to thank him if it works for you).
It may not work on all computers.

There was but it slowed the game a bit.. A short fix is to make the buttons do 1.25. 1.5 and 2 or even 2,3,4 but a time delay as a good idea, we just didnt take the time to balance it right and then gave up cause people bithced

Not to mention I should never Nuke when I wake up.. I killed 700 troops WOOOHOO

yeah, I have seen this bug. When you launch a nuke from 5 min away, it travels past the city and comes back around to nuke 5 min later (so, essentially the shortest travel time for a nuke would be 10 min). If you look on GE, then nuke travels beyond the city before nuking.
