It is available for downoad and apparently has Integrated web browser. So hopefully those that have windows 7 or vista will have the integrated browser now.

And hopefully some bugs are fixed...and not too many things changed again or we will have to change the code again too.
Can anyone confirm that the KML works with 5.2? I had big issues with 5.1 so am still on 5.0.11733.9347

downloading it now
Yeap, looks good, wish the built in browser could be a little less evasive and be able to have GE and the browser be able to be on the screen at the same time. But other then that, no really big obvious changes, all the parts of the kml load, and refresh, showing changes to army movement, so looks like 5.2 is a goer!

Jewelling is impossible. Nearly every button is a hotkey for some function. And every second time I try to collect one it says the security code doesn't match (and I didn't enter any code). Then sometimes the external browser opens up or the whole GE crashes.
;lame ;explode
it happens to me sometimes, maybe it didnt come closer to the location or i move it quickly, it says the security code doesn't match. each time i have to make sure it updated the location correctly before collect one.

LOL KD, those two smilies next to each other make it look like the smiley on the computer presses a button which explodes the other smiley to the right!

5.2 is not cool, it always crashed on jeweling. if you are crazy-jeweler, better using 5.0 IMO.

When I first read this, I really thought you were going to say, "I'm Windows 7, and this was my idea." (like in the commercial) :)

GE doesn't seem to work at all anymore. My 5.1 worked fine but only 1 week. After that it crashed my PC when I started it. 5.2 always crashes when jewelling. I tried 4.3 but it crashes even more often.
So it seems I'll have to jewel with my virtual machine then.

Try 5.0: http://www.gewar.net/forum/showpost.php?p=210230&postcount=82
What operating system do you use (full version number)? Did you try both internal and external browser? At what point exactly does it crash?

GE crashes at start. That means the GE screen shows and nothing reacts anymore. This happens when I have used it 1 week. Only reinstallation works then.
As for the program crashes they happen when collecting a jewel after clicking "yes". I always use the internal browser.
OS: Windows 7 Professional x64
Version 6.1 (Build 7600)
I tried Windows XP Prof in VMWare. There GE 5.2 works perfect. No problems occured so far.
PS: When using the internal browser in GE I always have to log in. It doesn't remember. (I don't mean logging in the gewar kml, but logging in when using the internal browser)
edit: 5.0 works fine for now. I hope it doesn't crash again after longer use

You mean GE crashes at start without any gewar kml file being related to it? Or could it be that you let the gewar kml activated when closing GE? Then GE will try to reload that kml right after startup.
Do the crashes always happen if you try to jewel? Also if you use external browser?
About the internal browser not remembering your login: Either you forgot the "remember me" checkbox or the internal browser on your GE has a cookie problem. Can you try reloading the page also?
I try GE 5.2 now on my windows xp sp3, no crashes so far. I can jewel, view cities, armies etc. I will try planting resources as well. But in general, GE seems to run quite slow on my computer, if I go anywhere and click a location marked by GE (for example a town) it already needs seconds to open that small "baloon" giving some short information. When clicking a link there and internal browser is active I need lots of patience...
GE 5.0 definitely worked better for me. The only thing I could imagine is that I could try updating my graphics chip driver but I guess that's not worth trying as long as everything else is working fine.
So I use
Windows XP Pro SP3 (32bit)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 2.2GHz
2GB RAM
on board graphics

I never deactivate gewar KML files. Should I do this?

I've been using 5.2 for about a week now. I like it, it has only crashed once, I can see ALL of the cities unlike 5.1 and everything updates fine. The internal browser is nice and works on my OS (Windows 7). The only beef I have is with planting resources. You can't see the whole field it makes you zoom in really close. Next time I plant I'll take a screen shot and show you.

Well just try it. Next time when GE crashes at startup while GEWar being inactive you would get a proof that it's not related to GEWar.
MDFootball44, jeweling works for you as well?

Yeah jeweling is fine.. it is slow at times, but it has never crashed while jeweling. And the internal browser works fine too. The one crash in the time I've used it was when I was planting resources.

So we have some win7 users who experience jewel problems, others don't.
So everyone who tests GE 5.2, please post what OS you use (version number incl service packs etc), what processor, how much RAM, also if you have consuming software running, such as firewalls, antivirus, games, etc. Play around with these a bit.
Also post here giving same information if everything works fine to you. If we get enough reports we are probably getting some hints what could have a "negative influence" on GE 5.2 working properly.

Just for the record:
I use Outpost Firewall and Eset Nod32 Antivirus.
The system crashes happened with several GE versions btw. so I think there is some incompatibility. But strange is that it happens not until some days of use.

HP G60-635DX Notebook
Windows 7 x64
Version 6.1.7600 (Build 7600)
Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.1 GHz processor
3.0 Random Access Memory
No firewalls, just AVG-Free anti virus software
I normally do not use other programs while on GE with the exception of Firefox or Chrome and iTunes. Thinking back I may have been using uTorrent when I was experiencing slow jeweling. But like I said before, not very many problems. Just a tad slow while jeweling. Crashed once during resources. Resources display weird on 5.2
MD i have same problem with you on plant resources too, i am Win 7 user. GE 5.2 is work fine for me, but only crashed when you jeweling more than 50 or above, sometimes it delay for 2 seconds to the location. if you were active jeweler, probably would madden with it. :p well, GE 5.0 is more stable for Win 7 users.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.01Ghz

Windows Vista
Google Earth 5.2
Works without any problems here. Armies, cities, resources and jewels. Using the internal browser, but also tested with external firefox.
I did notice army icons really need to be a litle bigger in GE.

You should be able to alter the icon size in the options of GE under the 3D view tab (labels/icon size = small, medium or large), unless of course, GE 5.2 does not have that option anymore.

yeah that's pretty cool. I increased icon size to medium, found out the text is too large then and fixed that by changing font (click the button directly below the icon size settings).
PS: When using the internal browser in GE I always have to log in. It doesn't remember. (I don't mean logging in the gewar kml, but logging in when using the internal browser)
Yes. I experienced that as well, as soon as you close GE it seems to forget the cookie. So you have to login once per session apparently. This doesn't happen when I use just chrome so I guess the internal browser of GE is based on chrome but is not exactly the same. So far I didn't find out how to change cookie settings of internal browser.
Resources display weird on 5.2
Resources look totally normal for me when I plant with 5.2 on my PC. Can you show us a screenshot please?

Well i got Win7 also and it works fine with GE 5.2 ???
I read a lot of complains about GE 5.2 in combination with Windows 7.
I myself use Windows Vista(which is a crime on itself), and in combination with GE 5.2 I have no problems at all. No crashes, errors, slowdowns or log-outs with gewar. All KML files are activated, even homebases. I said it earlier, but wanted to update that there has been no error at all since.
I can say I'm quite happy with this GE update, as the beta-version was terrible. Now to make those army icons bigger by default already. Not everyone knows how to change it manually.
google maps will replace google earth as game based?

It's not only 5.2. No version works fine for me, so I think I'm just out of luck.
