Looks like the aliens are getting a little sloppy with their crop circles.
What's up with the hair on the lens?

First post will tell you my rules for what will qualify as a suitable jewel location.
New Jewels are coming, when coders get me the script to edit and add jewel locations expect jewel locations to change. I have over 100 already waiting to spice up the jeweling again.
I will add that Profanity will auto be rejected this game is played by 8 year olds.

How do you get Hair on the lens of a digital satellite photo?!?
That is an odd little find there.

Things like this can be found at Google Earth Hacks (http://www.googleearthhacks.com/), Google Earth Community (http://bbs.keyhole.com/)
Note: Not all photos are from satellites, some (most?) are from aerial photographs (taken be aeroplanes/helicopters/other flying things)

I've heard that only 35-40% of the surface of googleearth is mapped with the use of sattelites, but that seems a little low?

I'm not too sure, but I'd assume that most of the low-res shots are taken be satellite and all the high-re with aerial photography
Ummm, how exactly did you find this?
Actually this was posted on Digg.com. I just thought it was humorous.

another good source of potential jewel sights might be some of the posts that come from www.googlesightseeing.com - lots of things to choose from.
Recent entries include the reference to Eddie above, but also include Oil Rigs, flying aircraft, flying cars, lots and lots of samples of text/crop circles and look out for the rather bizarre UFOs arranged in a very neat grid across the whole of the continental united states.
