Ok, so I have a two part post. The first part is a suggestion. The other is an announcement because the first part doesn’t exist. Bear with me on this as it will most likely be very wordy.
Have you ever been in a heated war with someone and then the other party just quits or the war is somehow declared over? What to do with the excess troops? Sure, you can disband them, but what a waste of geos. You could go and hit the next city or some other player that you don’t like. But that would spark another war. Perhaps you aren’t ready for another knock out drag out war? Selling the troops could be a way to recoup some of the costs. A market for selling troops would be great.
The troops would be sold as an army. The army gets listed with the troop’s size and the total HPs. Once listed on the market, you don’t have the cost of upkeep anymore for the troops, but you can’t get them back either (to keep people from using the market to dodge upkeep). It would work like the resource market; anonymous listing and default the army names to Army 1, Army 2, etc. The price can still be adjusted for your listed armies whenever you wanted, and you would still have the option of disbanding them (equivalent of taking them off the market).
The player that buys the army would have the options to have the army stationed at any designated city they own or their home base and would then be responsible for the upkeep. They can then do any normal action with the army such as name it, add troops, train, if required, disband it, or turn around and re-sell them.
Let’s hear your thoughts on this. Please don’t make this a thread of name calling flame wars. I would ask that if this thread turns ugly, the mods delete all posts containing such violations and other posts that reference such violations. I would like to see this thread kept clean and constructive.
Now, because that feature doesn’t exist in the game right now, I am selling some armies. I have 8 armies I’d like to liquidate. These armies are already built. I will not be adding additional troops; no matter how much I’m asked or paid (extra payment for requested troops will be forfeited, not returned). Send me a pm for a list of army information. I will list the army size and HP totals along with itemized costs. It will be first come, first serve. So if more than one person requests the same army, the first person who makes full payment, as outlined below, will get it. The other person will be informed that the army is not on the market any more. If I am attacked and the army is killed or the troop count changes before sale, I will inform as needed. I currently am not in any war with any one or any alliance, so I am hoping that I am left alone to test this business adventure.
The purchase price for an army is the base cost of the army and troops, rounded up to the nearest hundred. The training/experienced gained is free. The cost of oil to move the army is free. There is a 25% fee added if I can get the troops moving to the target you specify within 8 hours after payment. And, there will be another 25% fee (of the base price, not the total price) for initiating the fight and winning the fight. Winning is defined as, the city is taken, or the target is killed. Of course, if my army, which is really your army, is killed in the process, there is no fee even if I initiate the fight. In any event, all Intel gained will be pmed to you immediately. If the city is won, it will be handed over to you as soon as you reach the city to claim it. Any troops left in the army totaling less than 1000 HP will require you to kill that army to gain the city. Otherwise, I will abandon the city before you take it. This will be communicated via pms. If my army loses prior to your arrival, well, oops, sorry. Don’t let that happen.
Total payment, including the fees, is due upon contract agreement (via pms) prior to any troop movement. A refund of any monies due will be refunded if the additional fee requirements are not met as outlined above. If the additional fees are not paid or payment is not complete, the army will not move, eventually your army will be resold, and all payments will be forfeited. The army will be renamed to [your player name] Guerillas. As, technically, if the market existed, the target would know the army was yours.
If a target of this suggested feature is offended or upset at me, well, it’s just business and a way to test the possibilities of a new market. I am not a hired gun. I am only working within the confines of the game. It’s not personal. I don’t control my customers and their wishes; I am just acting for them. This is not something I will be doing often or again anytime soon. Once all armies are sold off, I will post here letting everyone know. I will not be creating any new armies for this business adventure. I want these armies gone. If I can make some dough off them, how can you blame me? If you decide to take revenge on me, well, I guess there won’t be much I can do about that (although I hope everyone understands my motivation). I am willing to “test” my suggested feature. I guess I’ll know if this is a good idea based on how fast my armies sell, lol.
