He asked me to put this up, so here it is. And I will vote first for a huge no. He is not a donator, he abuses people till they leave, and his humor is far overshadowed by the abuse he gives people.

The 2 points in the poll however are extremes. A little bit in the middle would be better. Because if the positive point has to be that someone has to be a great help, then who will reach that and what exactly defines being 'a great help'?

However normally I would close such a thread immediately, but this was done as requested by Skotty. An outcome ofcourse doesn't mean a ban is put in place. We only have bans for cheaters and for players that drive crew away(in which case production comes to a total stand-still, thats why).

I may consider banning myself if this poll goes all wrong.

I would not have put it up, but he did ask. And well you may edit, your the boss man. But i think after some of the comments he has made about people, countries, ethnic groups and occupations (like serving your country) it is pretty black and white. But you change as you see fit. no worries.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Peonboss, you don't hold back anymore than skotty does. If skotty should be banned for his forum banter, then so should you, along with many others. With that being said, both of you make me laugh so I say you are both helpful.

Where is the insult in that comment? I only expressed my opinion for which I am not sorry for.

Although I don't think Skotty is a great help to the game, I don't think he's a problem that warrants removal. Mute him if you don't like what he says, or just don't read his posts. Simple enough to me.

I understand this poll is for fun (at least I hope it is), but I had to put this quote here, you cannot vote for a person to be banned for saying nthings on the forum which do not conform to your way of thinking, if in another breathe you are saying the following.



Loosing a donator is never a good thing. It is a loss of revenue for the server and a sign that some need is not being met by the game. Everyone who wants the game to get better is sad to see one go.

As for Skotty being banned etc, unless he breaks the rules it will not happen, and on a personal note, Skotty adds life to the forums, just as you do and many others, his posts can be a bit cutting to the recipient, however so can others posts, so I do not see him as worse than anyone else on the forums.

Yes he does.

Now ok, on the forums he only trashtalks, twists things in his favour, and has made very rare posts here and there where I feel he has taken things too far and used terms that I don't think were appropriate. Then again, these things apply to many players who comment on the forums, including me.

However, this is a war game, not a forum game. In the game itself, Skotty offers help to noobs in the form of cities/geos, plays for fun and attacks, is still active after 18 months, and even asked me if I needed any assistance when I came back after my "short break" (yes, that's what we're calling my attempt to leave these days haha).

His newbie plan worked really well last round and helped a lot of players. At the time, I was actually really hoping he would fail, but fortunately I was wrong and he didn't, thereby helping many newbies in the process. Peon, please don't read this point as me trying to suggest you didn't help, as I've said before then I won't ever criticise your newbie helping efforts, you did a hell of a lot to help newbies too and still do.

Now this is quite an interesting one. Whilst Skotty trashtalks etc, I don't think he's ever made an accusation or inferred insults against a person's character to the level you say here - of course, as we both well know, you have.

With Skotty his comments are ALWAYS in jest, maybe it's not your sense of humour, sometimes it's not mine, but regardless then I have learnt his intentions are always humourous - whether or not his intentions succeed is irrelevant. As mentioned before Peon, your comments/accusations/incinuations towards certain players on forums aren't always in jest, and some have been to an extreme which causes people to question why they bother playing the game. Oh, and by forums, I mean this one and the external one which many here won't have seen.

In conclusion, Skotty should not be banned. He may have made posts in the past which could have deserved a mute maybe, but then who hasn't out of the active forum users?!

The fact is that there is only 1 player who deserves a ban in my opinion. This player makes extreme inferred accusations against players on here, is always doing their best to undermine staff publicly, always tries to undermine and criticise Luke behind the scenes, and is just promoting their own ex-staff bitter agenda which is against the best interests of the game - this player is you Peon.

I hate to state the obvious, but he has been a donator alot longer than your poll has been up on the forums. You must have just missed when it happened.

You cared enough to create a poll, write a few posts trying to torch Skotty, and to still try and justify your point about him not being a donator even though he is.

I must say I like the irony of this thread though. In trying to make a point about how terrible Skotty is, all Peon appears to have done is create a thread giving Skotty the chance to showcase how funny he can be.

Skotty can be insulting, that is a fact. However so can Peonboss(and Foskasse). You 3 are real characters of GEWar. Insulting to some, yet bring life to the forums. Sometimes a pain for the crew that need to warn, edit etc.

About this thread: I don't feel sorry for Skotty though. He offered Peonboss geos to create this thread. That's almost the same as creating it yourself. And I can sometimes understand Peonboss's frustration because wherever he posts something, 1 of a small group will always react to it with an insult. Like he has his small group of personal stalkers.

On the other hand he does fuel this with his own insults that can also tend to get quite personal. I think you guys would miss eachother if 1 left or was banned. And I think you are all strong enough in character to not let it get to you personally.

I voted ban on instict, without considering the finer details. Both options are extreme, and if reduced to a binary answer, it seemed the logical choice. If 1=ban, and 10=great help, 5=average player, 2.5=mute and 7.5=slightly helpful, I'd have voted 3 (living on vocal side of the mute border).

Having read the posts of others who have thought about it more than I, from thier borrowed insight I'd modify that vote to 3.75. An unquantified part of that is due to personal bias, due to previous posts negatively aimed against my alliance, and my lack of understanding of the source of his animosity (which renders me incapable of judging whether it is justified).

Just so you know I don't hate you dude. It can be entertaining when it doesn't involve me or my alliance, but you are effective at pushing my buttons when it is. Not many are. Even so, I still get the vibe you roleplay the angry troll, and there is more prose than poison behind your rants; It's not a personal attack.

The forum would be more boring without you. I dont want that. I can't say you've been a great help, but you don't deserve a ban, even if that prospect was remotely possible from this poll.

In a normal day I make a normal amount of things I mess up But we are talking burning a pancake a tiny bit more than golden or hitting the wrong button on the remote... It is actually pretty rare I really screw up. As the wife tends to say, If I think about it before i do it, there is not alot of point in arguing cause I tend to make up my mind for good reasons.

And I should add, that has never stopped her from arguing, She usually gets her way anyways especially on full moons.
