CHEERS!!! ;91
ghetto bob 01-09-2010, 09:01 PM it may be a smidge too close to Guerrero Negro, Mexico
[OCN]_NikeySunfire 01-09-2010, 09:38 PM what? recheck again...there're almost 2000km between those cities...
The problem I see is San Luis Potosi. I think it's less then a turn(say 5-7 minutes) of travelling for an army. When it's less than that, weird things can happen in the game(like moving an army from San Luis to this city could then suddenly be instantly).
But I'll let Blitz decide if it's too close or if it would just fit.
[OCN]_NikeySunfire 01-09-2010, 10:18 PM Thanks for consider it Luke! n_n hope it's gonna be added.
Blitzkrieg 01-10-2010, 03:14 AM I'm away for the weekend. I'll have a look when I get back home.
[OCN]_NikeySunfire 01-10-2010, 05:06 AM Yup no problem :D have fun! ;91!!
filibuster 01-10-2010, 07:17 AM You can make room in the 5-min grid for Leon if you move San Luis Potosi just a little bit to the north (the state is also named San Luis Potosi).
In the same fashion there are a handful of cities that won't fit because of Mexico City but from these the city of Puebla could be placed off to the south (the state is also named Puebla).
(19° 2'28.67"N, 98°12'22.32"O)
Apart of these there's Mazatlan which fit easily just minutes south of Culiacan.
The GEWar map is empty in that spot.

[OCN]_NikeySunfire 01-10-2010, 07:31 AM You can't do that...yes the states are named "San Luis Potosi" and "Puebla", but there're cities as well with those names, if it doesn't fit, no problem nevermind, I don't want cities to be moved from their real life location , thanks again n_n
filibuster 01-10-2010, 09:38 PM I mentioned it because it has been done before like in europe where there's a lot of cities that doesn't fit either.
Since the state remains the same it won't matter much that the placemark is off by up to 5 minutes which isn't noticeably unless you zoom in.
The important thing is to see if they can be added, which is the reason i mentioned puebla, because if leon makes it into the game then puebla should too.
Blitzkrieg 01-11-2010, 12:48 AM The city fits in aesthetically ok, my litmus test in the past was to zoom out and if the boxes touched, it was too close. Unless the boxes are physically smaller than they were in the past, this city fits in fine. (EDIT: I do think the city boxes are smaller.....)
The city of León, formally León de los Aldama[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leon,_Mexico#cite_note-1) is the fifth most populous city in Mexico (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexico) and the first in the state (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_divisions_of_Mexico) of Guanajuato (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guanajuato)
It is certainly a significant city as well, 5th largest in Mexico.
Just for your information, it will be named Leon without the ó as non-basic characters do strange things to the code (same with apostrophes).
You shall see it soon.
filibuster 01-11-2010, 03:55 AM It'd be 5th by city size and close tie with Tijuana which touches San Diego and Cd. Juarez that touches El Paso.
By metropolitan area population there's Puebla and Toluca but these are next to Mexico City.
Blitzkrieg 01-11-2010, 04:28 AM Hey! Wikipedia says it so it must be true :D
