When a city gets raided, I am able to find out what my losses were:
Your city of Tbilisi, Georgia was attacked by TheMightySquigglies. None of your armies were killed in the battle, but you lost 5,099 troops. 4,100 attacking troops were killed. You retained control of the city.
However, when my army gets attacked, I don't know my losses, only the enemy's:
Your army MkhitarSparapet68130 was attacked by ballsofsteele outside the city of Isfahan, Iran.Your army was killed in the battle. 8,133 attacking troops were killed.
My losses should also be reported as I can't always keep track of all of my armies by hand.

You don't know the enemy army's size because none of the defenders lived to tell you.

No, he wants to know how big _his_ army was.
I thought the same thing as you when I first read it.

MkhitarSparapet is definetely right, it's not realistic to get better report for your opponent headcount than for your own.
but there are other issues yet, like missing links in the "city became unnocupied when xxx attacked an army outside..." report, or the typical 0-0 bug, so we should be patient :p

well it isnt very important, the programers have better ythings to do. And you should be able to remember how many troops you had.

I would like to be able to access the screen that showed the battle stats and moves. Sometimes I send a small army over to fight just to see how big the opposing force is, but if they attack me first then I don't get the info that I wanted. :(

Yes, but that is by design. You don't attack first, you don't get the intel :)
