Chances are it has been raised before in some form or another. (and discussed and debated endlessly) :rock Are they just waiting for a big update or do they add features as they make them? :muri btw what the hell does th is mean? bueth 01-29-2006, 11:41 PM just added this feature to the new version. greets PvUtrix 01-29-2006, 11:43 PM As a php programmer I can tell that it would take me less than 10 minutes to make this change, so whats the hold up if its a feature that has been requested for a long time and has no negative points? RomulusJ 01-29-2006, 11:43 PM They are waiting for TIME. Changes forced by Digg and Whirlpool coming here caused code that was on the mid range list (4-6mo away) to become priority one. Its pushed code that was first priority back, Such as the Weather code and moving some code that looks really helpful on the test server to here. Now before people go I am bashing Digg or WhirlPool I am not. I am stating the facts. Their arrival made code changes have to happen for the game to run smoothly again. The time it takes to fix that is time taken from getting what is on the list done. Also plugging hacking holes, dealing with a crappy server and finding a new one is all taking time from getting requests done. For 3 people to be doing it all, its amazing the game is as far as it is! It's all about prioritization, man. They have a long list of things they're working on, and they all have full-time jobs, families, (real) lives, etc. PvUtrix 01-29-2006, 11:46 PM just added this feature to the new version. greets great! :bang p0wderfinger 01-30-2006, 12:09 AM It's all about prioritization, man. They have a long list of things they're working on, and they all have full-time jobs, families, (real) lives, etc. Any chance of more staff? bueth 01-30-2006, 12:19 AM Just to point out some misunderstandings. The code we took over from Mickey wasn't very structured (actually it's splitted up to more than one hundret files). Mickey did a fatastic job on this game, but it grew too fast. Many things in those files are redundant and not made up for a large amount of users. The main cron for example took several minutes to run as we suddenly had 3000 users. As there were a lot of such issues, we started to create a complete rewritten version. To avoid that the current version and the new version splitt up too much, we don't want to add too many new features into the recent one. It would be quite hard to track all of them and/or do them twice. Unfortunately, the new version isn't as far as we wanted it to be by now as we had other problems to take care of, but I have one week spare time now and I will work on the game. I hope we can bring the new version into the testarea by the end of next week. As soon as we run the main game with the rewritten scripts, we will take care of the wish list. Greets Mythdraug 01-30-2006, 06:52 PM they all have full-time jobs, families, (real) lives, etc. That's the problem.. Get rid of those unnecessary things and the game will evolve much faster. :evil |
