We had a big crash and data went corrupt.
Even the backup.
I had an older backup i just put back so you could play again.

To make sure it doesn't happen again, we are moving to another provider next week. So next week there will be a couple of hours when you can't access the site during the move.

I'll also be making 2 backups a day to my own pc from now on.

For the donators who became donator in the last week, PM me with which email you donated and I can check that again and make you a donator.

things aren't normal for me yet... I jsut lost all my armies in indianapolis... that was 15k troops (yesterday), then after the crash I bought it from the owner and sent 5k troops, and built another 5k army that I was going to send. Now all of them are gone... I am soooo lost.

Thanks for the hard work. Everything is great on my end. If we need to start over that would definately give me an advantage since I started later than most.

I'm not sure about whether they were in my hand or in the bank, because I was just about to transfer the money when the system crashed. But now I have a:
Geos Available: 13.77 (../war/store.php)
Geos Banked: 199.77 (../war/bank.php)

But I had about 2600 or more.

I might have lost the geos I had in stocks... but I've heard they come back after you re-occupy a city?

Ok since I dont have wichita any more i take it we are about 1 day before the crash. I have the troops and Geos of about 1 hour before the crash. If that is so could my troops and geos be made time wise all the same?

uh that was weird. so i attacked Albuquerque.. got my ass kicked (heh), and then i left. the 3 min later "gator" abandonded it. however, "gator" was clearly not the owner of the city when I attacked. is this a bug?

I have sold many armies short before crash. In Dehli there was more then 25k init today I lost Dehli with only 6k.

I am just posting what I am seeing on my end luke. Do not take it for criticism, or that I am mad. I think you are doing an awesome job. When I come across something that I see that could be wrong though I want to post it and bring it to your attention.

I am going on the assumption that everything that could be done for geos armies and cities has been done and am in the process of gettinf back cities that became unoccupied due to my army loss there because of the crash. It will be a couple of days before all gets back to normal but im sure it will happen.

I lost almost 720,000 geos, but I won't complain....so if I don't, nobody else should....

Obviously things have gone haywire and ive lost Adelaide and a MASS army of troops that i had guarding it :shoot ,It appears some other clown has just walked into it without any battle, this is very frustrating as i also had my geos maxed in fixed bonds

hey everyone has suffered from this. i vote to keep on going forward as a reset will cost everyone several weeks of work as opposed to a couple of days.

I think a reset would be the fairest.

I lost two Cities, which was occupied by someone else. I also lost 6 Armies with fairly significant impact to me ... and not to mention the Bonds that I had which have now gone :( I do have screen dumps of the old page with these details if you need them :) But really, I think time for a reset :)

We cant really do much regarding city/army/resource/stocks/bonds.. all of that data was stored in the table that got corrupted.. I'm not going into details about it though, too technical. You guys are either going to have to figure out a geo-value for it, and we'll try to reimburse you, or just let it slide and go on with your GELives ;)

Try deleting the KML files, deleting the cache, and then redownloading them.

I did that and it still doesn't work. I also tried on a different computer. I get the same error message.

a reset isn't the best way. GE War is in BETA stage, this means it is in the TESTING stage. To have a reset after a problem happens means Luke, araT and the code monkies can't find out a way to fix it so if it does happen again they can get straight onto it it.


This is a BETA version, its better to have this happen now and learn from it and continue with it otherwise if it happens again when we aint in beta stage what are we going to do? reset the non beta game?

Luke, if your ever planning a reset tell everyone so we can have an all out 24 hour World War.

Crashes like the one yesterday do not give (ussally) advanced warning.

I would like some compensation, maybe a few hundred thousand Geo's to keep me on my feet for now, we can discuss in more detail later ;)

As the crash started with the messages(alliancemessages,posts,pm's), those were really corrupted and we had to do with an older backup.

i say we just treat crashes and the sort like natural disasters becuase they happen and countries lose things so having crashes is kind of realistic :sealed
