I'm curious how many cities are going to be added or if there is a plan to stop adding more cities at a certain point?

The reason I ask is that I'm concerned it's going to be too cluttered in Google Earth to manage.

Thanks for your work with this.

If I can keep the spacings ok, the map may fill up but should never be cluttered. As more people are joining there needs to be more cities (especially entry level cities) as the whole point of the game is to occupy cities and this also opens up more user options (stockmarket, alliance transfers etc.).

Currently the game has 684 cities and 3039 users (Main GEWar Page).

I don't know about google earth not being able to cope, I'm just a simple man, with simple wants and needs.

I think it is very far from cluttered right now, assuming cities/armies/bases layers are not all activated at the same time :p

When I first read about the game, back in August 2005, I thought it would be using GE cities and one would be able to literally own any town on Earth. While that would be going too far, adding new cities is making the game more exciting, unpredictable and newbie-friendly. I hope Blitzkrieg adds a lot more! in Russia (subliminal)

If it ever gets too cluttered, we will find solutions... perhaps leaner polygons and smaller font for small towns, and/or smaller tents and shorter tails for the armies, could help at some point.

By the way, it would be cool to play with 3 monitors: one for GE, one for the web interface and one for the forums

Think about it . . . . Round the turn of December there were only 172 cities (I counted at one point), and now there are 685! (this includes the most recently added, Prince George, Canada). :bang :bang :bang

This was my primary concern, it just seems like the number of cities are growing exponentially. I suppose it will slow down as space is filled in, but I wanted to bring it up for discussion just in case.

As far as the ratio of cities to users I don't think it should be real easy (just medium easy, you gotta do some work for one) to get a city otherwise what's the point of GEWar? One of the themes of war is fighting for scarce resources, in this case cities. Just my thoughts on the matter.

At this rate theres only 1 city to more than 4 users, thats hard enough.. and that ratio is only going to grow now that the game is fixed and new users start pouring in again

well, the ratio is much better if you only count active users... it might be off because of the downtime, but there were about 1,100 active users in the last week. That's better than 1:2.

Sooner or later, GEwar is going to need to partition different servers, because only so many people can fit on one planet. It's a bit of a shame though, the game is probably best when everyone is on the same server.
